I think Glenn, unfortunately, is onto something. There are two big issues:

1) At what point do people actually take their guns out of the closet or case and say, "enough," and 2) what does the military do when that happens? A couple of years ago, the Tennessee legislature tried to sneak through some health-care tax (I think) and it took the radio shows just a few minutes to get hundreds of motorists to surround the legislature building with their horns blaring.

But is there a point where instead of cars, people actually show up with firearms?

The dark secret is that the amendment allowing private citizens to own guns is intended to protect Americans from the American government, not the Soviet Union or the muslims. Few people are willing to accept that, because they are convinced that America is immune from every problem that every other world leader has faced over hundreds of years.

I think Claire Wolfe put it best: “Walk outside your front door carrying a firearm. Look left. Does you next door neighbor have a gun in his hand? Repeat the process; look to the right. Does you next door neighbor have a gun in his hand? If the answer to both of your questions is “Yes”, proceed with what you were planning or wanting to do. If not, return inside quickly, put away your firearm and wait. Its still too soon.”

Beck won’t attack the No. 1 issue!
He’s an entertainer and nothing else—he will only go as far as his masters (faux, etc.) will allow him to—call it a trial baloon show, ratings ploy, whatever....
******
But....keep working on him, some one of these days the stars will all be lined up just right, and bingo—+^%$#@!!!!!

I live in rural Mississippi. I would be surprised if any of my neighbors left their house without a weapon. I know I am armed.

I saw this on Fox. It was highly interesting. Many people are thinking this stuff but this is the first television program Ive seen that has addressed it. I liked it.

I do think that is changing. My concern is that we’ve gone so far down the road of people not having, or knowing how to use, weapons, that we could be in big trouble WHEN they start to say “it’s time.”

Tennessee legislature tried to sneak through some health-care tax (I think)

No, that was a state income tax the 'Rats were trying to push through. According to the Tennessee State Constitution, a state income tax is unconstitutional. The then 'Rat controlled Legislature, fully supported by our then RINO Gooberner Don Sundquist (aka Taxquist), tried virtually every means at their disposal to push this unconstitutional tax through. They closed parks, cut school bus services, etc. All the things that would make the average Joe mad. Trouble is, it didn't work quite as planned. Protesters, including me, surrounded the Capital building daily for about three weeks. The Legislators were truly scared. Fast forward nine years and guess what? We don't have a state income tax and all the doom and gloom talk the Legislature and the Gooberner said was coming our way never materialized. What did happen is they were forced to rein in TennCare, which was the state's version of Hillarycare. TennCare is/was a boondoggle of epic proportions from top to bottom....

I live in Texas, so I have an idea what you ae talking about... ;-)

I think you’ll know when you and your neighbor walk out your front door armed, but not just going about a regular’s day’s business. That was what Wolfe was trying to say, I think.

Just amazing isn’t it. Instead of pillaging the public, they were forced to do what should have been done years before. The public forced the issue, “by the consent of the Governed”, or in this case the consent being peacefully withdrawn.

What will fuel the fire of revolution in this country would be attempts to shut down free speech such as the Fairness Doctrine. If the millions of people who listen to conservative talk radio are forced to look to shortwave or satellite radio broadcasts from foreign countries for uncensored news and opinion that would incite many to say enough is enough. The other flash point would be attempts to disarm the populous whether through some roll back of the Second Amendment by a liberal packed SCOTUS or through exorbitant taxes on guns and ammunition.

The scenario I could see play out would be a popular armed coup that would overthrow Congress and the President. I would see the US military participating and leading this coup.

Obama and the liberal Congress are sitting on a powder keg any if they continue down the road to socialism will ignite it.

Having been there at the Capital building in Nashville for a couple of days of the protest, I can tell you it was a beautiful thing to see. I can also tell you it is precisely what needs to happen again, only this time on a national level. Congresscritters make regular appearances in their respective districts. It's high time constituents started showing up in large numbers at these events and letting their representatives know they either support their actions, or they oppose, whatever the case may be....Fear is a great motivator and congresscritters fear nothing more than losing an election.....

The gun business, particularly the assault weapon and ammunition sides of it, is booming. Go online to any of the larger manufacturers; in most cases you will find a minimum 4-month wait, and some companies are no longer accepting orders. Ditto ammunition; retailers sell out shipments of 2-300,000 rounds within days, and many have been sold out of certain calibers for months. On some websites and in some stores, prices for both weapoons and ammunition have nearly doubled.

As far as training goes, any tactical pistol or carbine course where I live is booked solid into the summer.

People are arming themselves, and they are training. That's what a free citizenry does when faced with a tyrannical despot.
