Dude, better put on your asbestos undies....
And generous enough to share that fact with the rest of us.
More importantly, security and law enforcement agencies simply cannot be diverted to this nonsense while we have savages at the gates who want to kill us and bring down Western Civilization.
It turns out that leftists aren't the problem:
A country that rules a large chunk of the world for six hundred years? Hokay.
“Equating abortion with pornography seems a stretch. Abortion is the willful taking of a truly innocent human life. Pornography is pictures of naked people. Both are a sin ... but certainly not of the same social consequence.”
How do you think those unwanted babies got started in the first place? Duh!
Those of you who can’t see the relationship between pornography and divorce rates, STDs, and abortion rates are being willfully blind.
Can’t define pornography? Please.....
Here’s a start:
“Any transmission media that visually shows people, having oral sex, having vaginal sexual intercourse, or ejaculating.”
That is a result of bad law. Examples: The byzantine and exploitative tax code (full of loopholes for favored special interests, thus transferring their share of the load onto everyone else) encourages tax cheating. The practice of using traffic enforcement for revenue rather than safety breeds contempt to speed limits even when they are set based on legitimate engineering criteria.
What about the fact that the marijuana supply line is a violent lawless murdering entity which takes over more of America each year?
That is a result of prohibition, as demonstrated by the before-and-after experiment with alcohol prohibition.
Good point Mr. Blonde but the fact is that as of now, it isn’t legal, and the supply chain is what it is. Using pot supports this activity. Seems to me that the moral choice is clear: using pot supports violent activity, including murder. One of the reasons I stopped using is because the violence got too close to me.
The example you set is that it is OK to ignore bad laws. I try to each my kids that there are bad laws, but they should still be obeyed. “What if everyone in society ignored all the laws? Would you want to live in that kind of society?”
Excellent post Douglas KC.
By this argument, in 1941 you would say that FDR had some good points in his “day of infamy” speech but the fact is that as of now the people killed at Pearl Harbor are dead and the ships sunk there are sunk, and that the moral choice is not to add to the violence.
"Miss Frank is hiding in the attic, Herr Gauleiter...."
But the violence surrounding the trade is an argument in favor of legalization. If it were illegal and no one used, that would be great, but it won’t happen. The destruction that the prohibition causes is far greater than any evil it is protecting people from.
HA...i get the same brilliant responses...”go back to your bong, Dude!”...really childish.
Yup. so right.
ROFLAMO!!!!
>> How do you think those unwanted babies got started in the first place? Duh!
Photos of naked women do not cause unintended pregnancy.
>> Those of you who cant see the relationship between pornography and divorce rates, STDs, and abortion rates are being willfully blind.
It is impossible to contract an STD or cause a pregnancy by use of pornography. These are symptoms fornication and adultery — not pornography. Divorce, maybe. But, I’d say infidelity and general obnoxiousness are far more responsible for divorce than is pornography.
>> Any transmission media that visually shows people, having oral sex, having vaginal sexual intercourse, or ejaculating.
So Playboy and Penthouse you’re OK with — just not Hustler. Gotcha.

Go back and read post #6 again. Trying to lump abortion in with pot and porn is an apples and oranges argument. Furthermore, it's disingenuous because your forcing conservatives to resort to argue in absolutes. Pot and porn isn't as cut-and-dried as abortion is. Just because we oppose abortion doesn't mean pot and porn should be banned too.
And banning pot is bad because it causes crime. Yes yes, I know. How come nobody ever makes the case that LEGALIZING something makes it more prevalent?
But Douglas, pot is very prevalent and it's already illegal. I mean, what are you going to do? Wouldn't it better if it was regulated with strict laws for abuse or buying for minors, education about its use like the "Just Say No?"
Look at abortion, homosexuality and pornography. When it became unconstitutional to limit these things they flourished.
All three have been in existence since our nation's founding. States were permitting abortion even in the 1800s. There was never a time when abortion was completely banned in this country. Of course I'm not advocating it, I'm just saying that the notion of America always being pure and pristine is false.
