I’m surprised that more aren’t asking how Obama looks so good for being 118 y.o. :)

You would think Oprah would dedicate an entire month to that coverage ;)

My humble prediction is that once Zer0’s daily approval poll (Rasmussen) reaches negative territory and stays there for a couple weeks, interest in these cases will increase dramatically. Lately I’ve been hearing from people who “just want to get rid of him” by whatever legal means possible; he’s just “too dangerous” to the republic to stay where he is for 4 years.

How about the rest of you FReepers? Anybody else picking up similar vibrations?

Talk about self-delusion, though it's not an uncommon phenomenon among bithers.

It's obvious to any non-deluded person that Roberts is just trying to shut her up.

Why?

I really don’t know but it hasn’t stopped the mischaracterization of his words so I have to assume it matters not one whit.....

What were the words he said? I have a weird computer and it was hard accessing the video or audio or whatever it was; I was going to try again later.

The words Orly quoted, and the words on the audio (depending on what has been quoted here) are not very different; Roberts says he’ll look at them and to leave them with (presumably) the security guy.

I know it is difficult to remember verbatim even short conversations, the gist is pretty much the same here. I don’t see any big deal.

Add to that list of questions is:

“Who created the forged image of your Certification of Live Birth that has been posted on your website since June 12 of last year?”

I don’t either if one doesn’t care about truth and the facts. Conservatives don’t need to use inuendo and untruths to get the results they seek. jmo and of course yours may differ.

You are correct jadb. That quote wasn't exact. Here is the quote

Roberts breaks into Orly's question with, (exact quote): "Thank you, thank you very much mam. I appreciate you traveling so far. If you have particular documents that you want to leave with us I would be happy to look at them, if you leave them behind. Beyond that I obviously can't talk about any cases or applications or petitions that were made. Thank you."

Another voice says, (paraphrase) A member of the security will be glad to take the documents from you.

I have been, as a matter of fact, in an analogous way. I'm going to post a thread about his rising disapproval rate, which at last tally was 45%! That is a staggering change from two weeks ago.

I beleive that a disapproval rating of 53% is the tipping point, and the disaffected will be extremely interested in how to get rid of this guy.

Thanks for posting his actual comments.

Let’s objectively review what Roberts said in response to Orly’s comments.

Orly explains that she has travelled a long way to see him. Then she asserts that there is corruption and criminal activity in the SCOTUS. Then she gives a summary of her case, which is pending on the SCOTUS docket.

Roberts thanks Orly, presumably for her questions/comments. (i.e. He is polite.) He acknowledges that he understands how important the issue is to her. (i.e. He expresses appreciation for her willingness to travel so far to see him.) He doesn’t inflame the situation. (i.e. He doesn’t acknowledge or respond to the claims of corruption.) He establishes trust by attempting to find common ground with her. (i.e. He offers to review any documentation she provides.) Then he sets a boundary with her and effectively ends the conversation. (i.e. He indicates that he can’t discuss pending cases and thanks her again.)

Standard negotiation tactics to diffuse a potentially inflamatory situation! He was very perceptive and especially effective in addressing the issue under the circumstances.

Excellent Chief Justice material.

Unfortunately, I see nothing positive for Orly in that exchange.

I see nothing negative either. I’m shocked that he took all the documents. I imagine out of curiosity he will take a look at them.
