In a past life... ;)
According to the Burleson web site, Rey Gonzalez is the asst director of public works.
It would be nice to have more information. Is he trying to prevent street closures, refusing to put out barricades, what?

First Amendment — peaceful assembly RIGHT. Hmm, they must feel threatened by taxpayers revolting. Maybe they HAVE read their US History.
Updated the post. Gonzales works for the city manager, David Wynn. His number is 817-447-5400 x 234.
Let’s light up his phone line!
Done...your friends in the DFW Freepers support you, Burleson.
ping to DFW Freepers
“Here’s your permit, issued 218 years ago:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. “
Well put!
I wonder if Gonzales is a member of ACORN!
I did a quick Wikipedia search and found this:
“Tammany Hall was permanently weakened by the election of Fiorello La Guardia on a “fusion” ticket of Republicans, reform-minded Democrats, and independents in 1934, and despite a brief resurgence in the 1950s, it ceased to exist in the 1960s.”
So it’s possible you could have been around for part of the Tammany Hall days (depending on your age, of course), although I’m pretty sure you were talking about Boss Tweed & co.

We are under a tornado warning but it is north of me so will keep an idea on the full weather coverage to see if it changes. This is in the Huntsville, Harvest, Madison area.
The sirens are just now going off so guess they finally caught up with Dan the Man.
That might or might not work. What we really need to do is to borrow a few pages from the RAT Handbook: First, hire one of those "evil" trial lawyers (that everyone at FR seems to hate until they need one), to send a nastygram to the Mayor, City Manager, Gonzalas, the City Attorney, and most importantly, the City's insurance carrier threatening a civil rights lawsuit under 42 USCA §1983 on behalf of each and every person who is denied their First Amenedment Constitutional right of free speech.
Second, orchestrate an "AIG protest" by busing in thousands of people to hold the tea party at mayor's the city manager's, and/or Gonzalas' personal residence.
I’ve just called the Burleson city offices.
I spoke with their communications department to ask what kind of publicity it would look like if an unelected official denied citizens the right to gather for an event happening nation wide.
For those that would like to speak with this “street supervisor” directly, his phone number is 817-447-5410, extension 271.
Write a letter.
Texas has very specific rules requiring government agencies to preserve and answer WRITTEN communications.
It’s a nightmare for them.
What did they say?

My thoughts exactly. If need be, bring “liberty teeth” to prevent corruption from winning.
The Communications Director said she had no idea that there was going to be a Tax Party. I explained the date, that the group had permission, and that this unelected official was attempting to deny citizens the rights to gather. She didn’t say she’d look into it, but gave me his contact number.
