Juan Seguín

"Juan Nepomuceno Seguín (October 27, 1806 – August 27, 1890) was a Tejano hero of the Texas Revolution.

"As a teenager in Mexico he had a strong interest in politics. He was very critical of his contemporary Mexican leader, Antonio López de Santa Anna, and gladly joined the Texas Revolution to rid Texas of Santa Anna's rule. He led a band of twenty-five Tejanos who favored a revolt and fought on the Texan side at the Battle of the Alamo. Because Seguín spoke only Spanish, he was chosen to carry the message through lines that the Texans "shall never surrender or retreat." Seguín got the message to the other soldiers on the Texan side. He returned to the Alamo, but it had already fallen to Santa Anna's army. Seguín arranged for the dead Alamo defenders to be buried with military honors."

I am all for any TRUE MEXICAN TEXANS, but Gonzales, I don’t feel is one of them....too many Mexicans want Texas Arizona and New Mexico to become dominated and ruled by Mexicans and their agenda is not the same as mine....

Here's your permit, issued 218 years ago: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

These people have not a clue to the meaning of these words unless it suits their agenda and then it OK with them.

just did....here’s a copy

Ray Gonzales has no right to stop or even say anything about this tea party. Seems to me with the name Gonzales, he is of Mexican decent. Also seems, to a lot of us, that Mexicans are the only ones who think they have any rights to demonstrate for their rights....remember all the signs in Dallas...via la Mexico.

Please prove us wrong. And tell Mr. Gonzales to shut his trap....

A WHITE US CITIZEN....

What do you think of MY name? What kind of image and thoughts and notions come to your mind about my name?

"The report leaves out the reason why Mr. Gonzales is trying to stop the rally"

Because he is a member of the opposition? - Nah! that couldn't be it...

So, too hell with them. They let the rent a riot crowd meet and riot and burn and raise hell, and do nothing about it. We can riot just as easily as they can. Don’t let the imperial Obama federal government push you around. We must rally around the flag. Our flag. The stars and stripes, not the Muslin french fag flag.

My thoughts are "maybe he is related to Tommy Chong, and can thus get me one of those cool 3-foot-tall glass bongs".

What’s the latest?

Here’s a portion from another article yesterday.......

....Mr. Gonzales told organizers that he is on a special events staff, which is under the city manager’s office in Burleson. Gonzales explained to one local organizer that the special events staff had decided this protest was “not in the public interest.” He is telling organizers that David Wynn, the city manager, is his boss, and could overturn this decision. For the record, the city manager’s office told local organizers that they do not need a permit to demonstrate in Burleson, and they are not saying that the organizers need one now.....

the reason is pretty obvious, to me..... GONZALES....

What a dumb thing to say. If not for "Texicans" that had Mexican heritage Texas would not have become independent from Mexico. If you are ever in the Houston area I suggest that you visit the San Jacinto Monument or just read their web site if you need a primer on Texas history. You will see an accurate and what some people might see as a "politically incorrect" clear eyed view of the Texas fight for independence from Mexico.

The City of Burleson respects, honors, upholds and defends the Constitutional rights of all citizens, particularly the right to peaceably assemble.

The secret to finding out about Mr. Gonzales is to call him up, tell him you know he is catching a lot of heat for this and ask him what you can do to help him...

I have a sneaky feeling there might be some folks bussed in to counter this Tea Party...

Best to try and find out what he thinks he is planning on doing...

But why Burleson, Texas??? Beats the stuffing out of me...

And if there are efforts across the country to quell these Tea Parties...The same effort needs to be made to see who is countering this stuff...

Just a suggestion...

Also...

“The city manager agreed to cooperate with the tea party planners to ensure that the tea party is safe, and a success.”

Why does the city need to ensure this???

Stay away!!! I would tell them it’ll be just fine, the city does not need to officiate or ensure anything...This is not YOUR event to bless, approve, condone or support...

You had your chance...

Fire Mr. Gonzales...Then he’d be free to do whatever he wants to do...The city does need to watch those kind of people...Why don’t they just go do that...

yes it would, and one that is NOT associated with LULAC. One that has assimilated into the American way of life. One who has the future of America in their best interest, Not someone who wants to change the face of my America or try to stop the other Americans from fighting for the American way…..ie….TEA PARTY. I am ½ Choctaw Indian, and in my book…..it has changed enough… ….
