Tea Party Total Head Count Thread (Post Your Attendance Numbers Here)
Wednesday, April 15, 2009 | Kristinn

Posted on 04/15/2009 3:08:47 PM PDT by kristinn

I'm hoping to be able to ascertain an overall national figure of attendance at the tea parties today by asking Freepers to post their crowd estimates on this thread.

I'm also asking that the thread be kept to just the numbers, no photos, etc., but if you want to link back to photos in your crowd estimate that's fine.

Please give the location and number of participants.

I'll go first:

Melbourne, FL - 1000.

Rural Ohio Dairy Hut: 50 people.

Think about that and all the small towns everywhere that did this today, rain or shine.

Oh, I'm deferring to your estimate. I think you're a lot closer than my original estimate was. Until I saw your pictures in your earlier thread, I hadn't realized how far the crowd extended to the north, because I was on the down side of the sloped ground and on the south side. As for the umbrellas, in a lot of cases (like mine) people were standing 2-3 under one umbrella, so don't take off too many for that. Anyway, this was a whole lot more people than showed up at the March tea party. Thanks again for the photos!

The Inquirer is hideous. I can’t find a word that can accurately describe The Daily News.

There were a lot of young people at the Salt Lake City Tea Party, too, actively participating, with signs, t-shirts, and all. I talked to a couple young men who were handing out flyers, encouraging people to read “Atlas Shrugged.” He was a little surprised to find I’ve read the rest of Ayn Rand’s books, including some he’d never heard of. I told him, if he likes Rand, he needs to check out Eric Hoffer.

Hey Kristinn;

We had at least 500-1000 in Deland, FL. One disruptor who wore a tshirt with the n-word on it. I’m sure they asked him to leave. Obnoxious.

Remember “The Revolution will not be televised.”

At least on CNN. FOX will likely cover it.

There are over 100,000 attendees just from the posts above this. That is in a total of 58 cities.

There must have been literally a million people who attended a Tea Party.

I will try to keep track and update as the thread progresses.

The 4000 I posted earlier was from WCPO. RWNJ has posted that WLW estimated 7000.

Went to Nauvoo Il. pop 1000. there were between 60 and 70 people in attendance. No broken windows or cars over turned but we did say the pledge of allegiance and sang the national anthem. Just ordinary folks no politicians.
