If Mitt Romney is in, I'm out!
Declaration of Independence | April 30, 2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 04/30/2009 11:50:51 AM PDT by Jim Robinson

Yeah, I know. Said some similar things about Bush in 2000. But at least he was pro-life, pro-family, etc, and thank God we supported him over the idiot All Green Gore.

Said similar things about McCain in 2008. But when asked the question "when does human life begin?," and he unabashedly stated, "At conception, of course," I had to take notice. Then when he announced Sarah Palin as his running mate, I decided to support her. I voted for Sarah (and the white haired old geezer that came along with the package).

But Romney is a NO go. And I don't care who this socialist, abortionist, homosexualist, constitution trampling bastard picks for running mate. If Romney's in I'm out!

G.O.P., R.I.P!

While Romney is fighting the gay community because he is a Mormon.

Uh, wasn't Romney Governor of Massachusetts when the State Supreme court made a new law allowing Homosexual Marriage? Not a whimper from the man.

"I recall some with the same detest for Juan McCain before he was nominated."

And afterward, as well, right up to the present day.

As Maggie once said to Reagan, “Don’t go wobbly on me now”

Didn't the Iron Lady say that to George H. W. Bush? I don't think the Gipper ever needed such an encouragement.

If Mitt Romney is in, I’m in. No finer person and/or candidate.

Which one? Which Mitt? The 1992 Mitt running to the left of Ted Kennedy on abortion?

The Mitt that signed Romneycare?

Or the new and improved Mitt running for President in 2007-2008?

And what will we see in Mitt 4.0 (beta)?

Details details...

We will not let mere facts stand in the way of the truth that Mitt is the ultimate Conservative, no matter how many of those facts prove otherwise

I don’t know. I went back and watched her early debate videos in Alaska and thought at the time that she sounded genuinely conservative. She did openly buck some of McCain’s positions and stated she wasn’t going to agree with him on several issues, but she later went along with some his positions that raised doubts in my eyes. But I still supported her. It’ll be interesting to see how it goes.

McCain blew his chances by supporting the bailouts.

No reason you just HATE him? Interesting, maybe it’s his religion you HATE?

Declaring 'HAAATE' is the last refuge of scoundrels. Mitt has no core - his values shift for whatever elective position he is running for.

I am pretty active in my local GOP.

Thank you.

Lots of people bitch, both on this site and in real life, about the GOP’s lack of direction, conservative principles, etc.

Well, the ship ain’t gonna right itself! People need to get off their asses, stop being such keyboard commandos and DO SOMETHING.

If you want things to change, you have to be willing to do some of the heavy lifting that goes along with it.

Thanks, I appreciate that. But first, I have to convince my wife, and trust me, that’s not going to be easy. ;-)

Face it, RINO McCain is why we got Obama. Don’t nominate another one unless you’re trying for a record.

You’re looking at Palin all wrong...

Sometimes people tell me they won’t bring children into a cold, cruel world like this and I tell them, you should, because it’s YOUR child that could make the difference.

Sarah Palin could’ve made (and DID make) a BIG difference for the McCain ticket. And she did NOT fold to mcLame’s liberal leanings.

Rep. Duncan D. Hunter will be 36 in 2012.
I saw a brief news interview with him recently. He is articulate.
He might be one to watch.

Thank you for your constructive post. I've heard good things about Duncan Hunter too, although I don't know much about him. If he's as conservative as he is articulate, then maybe he's a winner.

Posts like yours are much more valuable than the usual fare. Instead of saying "Person A is a RINO," or "Person B is a Socialist," or "OMG you can't be serious - you support Person C?" it's so much better to say "I support Person D because of this and that and the other." When McCain was looking for a running mate, I remember reading one post on FR where someone said "If he would pick Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, I would really be excited, because she's a genuine conservative..." and whatever other reasons the poster gave. And when he DID pick Sarah Palin, I remembered that post and I got a little bit excited too.

I would rather find someone to love than add someone to the list of those I'm supposed to hate. I'm so tired of voting for the person who will do the least damage. Show me someone I can fall in love with, and tell me why YOU fell in love with them, and maybe the rest of us will be in love too, rather than spewing hate in all directions at multiple targets.

Palin would’ve gone along with him just to get her hat in the ring for the future? That’s sad if true.

********************

Not really. I suspect she hoped that if McCain was elected she would have an opportunity to do some good things and possibly exert some kind of influence on him. Added to that, Palin is a realist. It's not easy for a politician to get her/his name in front of the public.

"If Palin is such a Reagan in drag then why would she jump on board a McLame ticket?"

In case you weren't paying attention last fall, that became the *Palin* ticket from the moment Sarah jumped on board.

You DO remember her speeches, right?
"Hockey mom" and "lipstick" ring a bell?

Hey, you know how it goes. The ldsers who support MR will never listen to what one has to say as why they don't want him prespresting the Republican party, political reasons.
Its sorta like they hear: blah blah blah blah blah he's a mormon yada yada blah blah he's a mormon blah blah blah.

Couldn't have said it better myself, LOL.

Another thing, the mittbots will complain about how the Obamabots worship at the feet of the messiah, yet some of them show signs of the very same worship of Mitt.

“I am guessing you don’t remember how badly he treated families of MIA’s in Vietnam?”

I certainly do, and think Sen. McCarran has shown himself to be a petty and nasty man .... any courage he has exhibited seems to be long ago in a distant land and certainly hasn’t been shown in his moral convictions.

This does not concern Romney, but in listening to Rush it seems he was giving a strong, but subtle, endorsement for Palin.

Glenn Beck is a Mormon, and he loves Sarah Palin. I have never heard him say anything about Romney. Not that he hasn't, just that I haven't heard it.
