FCC Attack on TalkRadio

The acting chairman of the Federal Communications Commission has told members of a "diversity" committee who almost exclusively represent left-leaning organizations to tackle the status quo in America's broadcast industry and suggest "aggressive" solutions to what they see as problems.

According to The O'Leary Report, published by author Brad O'Leary, author of "Shut Up, America!: The End of Free Speech," the FCC's "Diversity Committee," headed by "Fairness Doctrine," supporter Henry Rivera, has begun its work.

The report said the committee made it clear at a meeting yesterday its members will force President Obama's supporters into positions of power within the broadcast industry.

The message came when acting FCC chief Michael J. Copps "forcefully denounced the current racial and gender makeup of the broadcast industry and called its lack of diversity 'a shameful state of affairs,'" the report said.

HotAir had a great little article a while back called “Leftism is racism.” Look at the actions here - discrimination on the basis of race is already illegal. So any lack of racial diversity in broadcasting that remains is only a “problem” if you believe there are some inherent and important differences between the races. And I don’t need to tell you where a belief like that could lead.

With the propaganda machine owning the MSM (I know, but mor so than now) we re certainly doomed. My tagline has made it clear for a long time my thoughts on this subject. IMHO, there is no more important sector that we should target for action to move it back to center/right.

So true. It is called the free marketplace. There would be more “diversity” if there was a market for it. Nothing good ever comes from the government interfering in the free market as the Dims meddling in the housing market has proven once agian. This is inconstitutional and unethical. But of course that never has stopped the dims before.

If the Fairness Doctrine is put in effect America will come unglued. The real war will start and King Obama and his thugs will have a rude awaking.

The acting chairman of the Federal Communications Commission has told members of a "diversity" committee who almost exclusively represent left-leaning organizations to tackle the status quo in America's broadcast industry and suggest "aggressive" solutions to what they see as problems.

It's okay; they can take every 1,000 Watt daytime/250 W nighttime pipsqeak station plus all the directional 50 kW stations (that get covered up at dusk just inches outside their 'coverage' area) in this market for the wide-area coverage ND (non-Directional, and formerly termed by the FCC as a 'clear channel', note: this not the owner's name!) 50 kW 820 kHz WBAP that airs Mark Davis and Rush in the DFW area ...

They are obviously using this “diversity” non-issue as a smokescreen to manipulate control of the airwaves so that influential opposition voices (mostly white males like Limbaugh, Hannity, and Levin) could be silenced. This is classic totalitarianism: voices of dissent are shut up!

Give Alan Keyes a radio show. End of “diversity” issue.

Next.

The day Rush Limbaugh is silenced is the day the Revolution starts.

The revolution has already started but the progressives are too ignorant to understand what it is and where it is coming from. Let them play their little games. They are the masters at not being forward thinking enough to account for the laws of unintended consequences and this one in particular will put them on the ropes.

The "Revolution" has already begun the left just doesn't realize what conservative hellfire it has wrought yet!

Even worse, out of the 57 FM stations I can get from my driveway there's entirely too much Spanish language and hiphop broadcasting.

Plus, we don't have a single political talkshow on FM.

Me either. What kind of hellfire am I supposed to be unleashing? “Elect John McCain” didn’t exactly strike fear into their hearts.

I had done background on the issue and had predicted some time ago that a change in one commissioner would allow them to simply issue a proclamation that could effectively kill talk radio.

Stop voting for the John McCain's and start nominating the Sarah Palin's. Use your inalienable rights!
