"very much a Franco-American occasion,"

He can really be a jerk sometimes...

I guess it doesn't matter...soon it will just be the site of an important mosque...

The government of French President Nicolas Sarkozy this week described the event as "very much a Franco-American occasion," which will be attended by U.S. President Barack Obama.

BS. No-one "forgets" to invite other participants, certainly not the foreign office of a major nation. This is a deliberate slight and anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional. I expect nothing more from the crappauds. No invitation extended to the canucks either I see.

“very much a Franco-American occasion,”

As I remember reading, it was also British, Canadian, and Polish making an appearance at Normandy

You go, girl.
The French suck only slightly less than Obama himself.

Right now, America is manning the ramparts of the defense of Western Civilization.

However, between September, 1939 and December 6, 1941, while America had it's head firmly stuck up it's it's isolationist rectum, Great Britain was manning the ramparts of the defense of Western Civilization.

Meanwhile, France had surrendered to the Nazis and was actively hindering the liberation of Europe. During the invasion of North Africa, the first American casualties died as a result of the Vichy French.

I suppose ignoring Sword, Juno, and Gold is ok by some people.

Not with me. People paid dearly for a foothold and D-Day is for all of those soldiers.

If Barack Obama were the man thought he was, He'd make a quick detour to the U.K., approach the Queen and say, “Your Highness, would you do me the honor of accompanying me. I have a plane already waiting"

And i bet Slick Barry is just eating it up that while the Sarkozy kisses his rear, the Queen of England, who actually personally made a contribution to the WW2 effort, is being snubbed. England, which held out alone under the great Churchill, is being snubbed, and all their sacrifices dismissed. All so the French leader can make his curtsey to a small-time Chicago thug politician who got luckier than he had a right to expect. And who also never sacrificed anything for anybody, much less in a war effort on behalf of his nation (if this is his nation).

What is with formerly relatively sane people casting all tact, honor, self-respect, and everything to the winds for this joker? I may be the only one, but this is getting spookier by the day.

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is getting brickbats, the Mail said, for not making sure the queen got an invitation.

Why is it the British PM's job to make sure the French State Dept do their job?!?!?

This is all His Barackness’ doing. His Barackness doesn’t want to share the limelight with the Queen, who outranks him in every way. She actually served in WW II. His Barackness has also banned the public from all his appearances.

The only thing remotely royal about His Barckness is that he is a Royal PIA.

He will make a lame attempt to out do “These are the boys of Pointe du Hoc”,Ronald Reagan’s great speech, one of the greatest speeches ever given on the 50th anniversary of D Day.

The real insult will be Obama - hater of the U.S. and of all things noble and patriotic - setting foot on the hallowed ground of Normandy.

I suppose he’ll go for the photo op in the cemetery.

That will go beyond insult, all the way to outrage.

Franco-American? Who landed at Juno and Gold beaches? And, the only French there on 6/6/44 were civilians.

The Queen should consider herself lucky. Royalty tends to get guillotined in France.
