The suspense continues. I was wondering last night if he suffered amnesia. This happened once to my mother and she was never able to fill us in on the lost time. So happy he’s alive and okay though. (((Hugs)))

I was late reading my ping to the news about your dad. So glad you are in contact with him. Prayers that all is well, for his safe return home, and prayers for successful healing and recovery of good health for you. God bless.

Dad is home. He’s safe and sound. Needed a shower but he got a lot of hugs anyway.

Thank you all for the prayers, I can’t tell you how much they meant to me and our family.

He’s coming around nicely and he’s realizing what a loving home he has here.

Those of you that have aging parents, you know the heartbreak of the adjustments a family must make.

Thanks again and I’m humbled by the fine Freepers here and all the support.

KK

I was so glad to be able to bring the good news to this thread.

Now I must ask for the intercession of the prayer warriors.

My wife's coworker, Tom, a professor in the department for which she is the chair, died last night. He had a mild heart attack over the weekend, while on vacation in Colorado. He made it to a hospital, and they got things somewhat under control. They tried to put in some stints via catheter, but were unsuccessful. That's all I knew yesterday, except that they were going to do a triple bypass today.

He never made it that far. He had a massive coronary last evening, and they could not save him.

While he may have been the oldest professor in the department, he was not all that old, early 60s I believe. He had his undergraduate degree from Louisville and his Doctorate from Indiana. He was the only full professor in the small (5 profs and an admin assistant) department. By all accounts he was very good at what he did.

He leaves a wife and two grown children, as well as a grandson. I ask your prayers for them. They'll be missing a husband, a father and grandfather.

He was an invaluable part of the small private college community. They are hurting pretty badly right now too, and I ask your prayers for them as well.

The only small ray of sunshine in the gray clouds of his passing is that Tom spent the last week of his life in Colorado with his family around him, swimming and hiking, which were some of his favorite pastimes, outside of his work, and his part time community theater type acting. The man had a voice that was to be envied. But that's another group that will be missing him.

Where was he?

Probably none of our business. IF and when KKing wishes to share that with us, he will.

I’m 69, sometimes I just want to be off by myself but I’ve never acted on it — your position made me think what that might do

Nothing wrong with going off to be by yourself. Just keep those who love you informed. If you don't wish to tell them where you'll be, at least tell them what you are doing, and when you expect to return to the world. Otherwise, they'll worry. A lot. Might even call the police to look for you. :)
