Sarah’s brother tells FOX that she’s been spending too much time defending herself against alleged ethics violations.

Bad precedent IMHO. With this development, any Democrat who does not want a GOP candidate to become successful can concoct alleged violation after violation until you tire of the whole thing.

Hillary has more resilience than this unfortunately.

She wasn’t ready, and not just in the stamina department. And having so many energetic conservatives insisting she was, made her a various dangerous distraction from the critically important business of trying to get Obama out of the White House in 2012.

Having her around, making noise, and being talked up as a 2012 POTUS candidate was advertising that the Republican Party would produce nothing but embarrassing chaos in the 2012 POTUS race, and that strengthens the Obama Administration right now. If he doesn’t need to worry about getting re-elected and Congress and the Senate are virtually certain they’ll be dealing with him as POTUS through 2016, it’s very hard to organize opposition to some of his very dangerous initiatives like the health care scheme. Start creating a plausible perception that he could be beaten in 2012, and he has to compromise a lot more, and Republicans in Congress and the Senate feel a lot safer opposing his initiatives, even when they’re popular with the socialist masses.

I see this as a positive move. Did you hear her speech? She’s awesome! Don’t let the naysayers get you!! WE have the BEST candidate!

I though that divorce comment was idiotic also.

I so disagree.

If being a community organizer (read agitator) doesn’t eliminate you, I wouldn’t worry about this.

I hope Palin doesn’t have the Mark Sanford syndrome. A couple of Obama worshippers I know, joked about wanting to see a Palin sex tape a couple of months ago.

Bill Kristol says that after thinking about it for a few hours, he thinks it might be a shrewd move.

then he got cut off by the Sarah speech but I hope there isn’t something BAD that is about to drop!

Yeah, the speech seemed rushed and bizarre to me...

Something’s up.

She is saying how insane it is trying to defend herself and the money and the lawyers involved and she is chosing not to tear down and waste precious time. Life is too short she says.

Palin needed to show the world that her 2006 Governor victory was no fluke. Shame. I agree that Palin is a non-starter as a Presidential candidate. Romney could say he complete one full term. While, Pawlenty and Huckabee can claim serving 2 complete terms.

I was there when Tricky Dick made that speech in 1962, and this doesn't feel like that. Dick spent years in the wilderness practicing law; and building his base.

I fear this will be fatal for Palin, but if she's recognized that she's a magnet for leftist xxxx, she could do what Nixon and Reagan both did - spend the next year devoted to recruiting and electing Republicans to Congress and Statehouses.

I heard Greta and yes - don’t underestimate Sarah. Again, she has the media going wild w/all their wondering what is she up to! LOL! What an ‘independent’ leader she is - totally unconventional - just what we need for our country right now. She said ‘dead fish’ go with the flow - fishermen know that!

Exactly. But what message is she giving her false accusers ? That people like her can buckle politically when they use this smear tactic ? This will only encourage them to try it on others. Who's next on their list of smear victims ? Jindal ? Mitch Daniels ?

I pray this role model for my young sister has a good reason for quitting her office; and that all is well with the Palins; but it’s hard to see how both prayers could be answered.

I agree, I was shocked at first, but
the more I think about it this is
a stand up kind of thing to do.
This is an all or nothing decision.

I am proud of Sarah.
