>> Several local police chiefs and other personnel said putting fear into the minds of criminals on the streets is also one of the best arguments for allowing concealed carry.

That’s how police leadership OUGHT to be talking!

Not like some of them I’ve heard that come out *against* citizens defending themselves with firearms.

The gangbangers already have guns. This would allow law-abiding citizens to have them with mandatory training and background checks

I hope the training will allow the 'citizen' to hold an advantage over the 'banger' when it comes to a gun 'battle'.

See, having the right arm, knowing where to shoot (and when not to), knowing how to shoot under 'duress', and other training would give someone on 'defense' an advantage. These courses should be offered to those who'd like to exercise a right of very ancient origin. As an elective, they could offer "Building a Wheel" to those so inclined.

Ps: arming average citizens as the 2A envisioned (and our blind court monkeys refuse to comprehend) automatically puts "perps" on 'defense'- where they belong. "You feeling lucky today? "Well, are ya!?"

An armed society is a polite society.

It's also a cool society. It's a society where thugs check-out in the express lane, only.

It's a society where politicians suddenly realize "perhaps we ought to 'read' what's in the National Health Care Plan, or Cap and Tax, or half the other crap that comes across our desks."

It's a society that will ultimately put an end to Boogaloo Economics. Recall Voodoo Economics?

Just Say No To Boogaloo Economics. Heap Bad Medicine. Not What Doctor Order For Ailing Economy. Paging Miss Cleo.

"If you're not sure if a guy has a gun, you may not try to do some things to him that you might otherwise try to get away with," said Peoria police Officer Troy Skaggs, president of the Peoria Police Benevolent Union. " It's the fear of the unknown. "

Crooks are already carrying concealed weapons.

This just levels the playing field.

Also, citizens aren't held to the same standard as police. If a citizen feels their life is at risk they can just kill the guy.
