Just a side note. I was there! everything coming out of
scotts mouth is a lie. We were there at 10:00 AM.
They said this was a meeting for the road but told us they
would answer questions about health care in a while.
Meeting was from 10-12. went on till 2 and a lot of people
had to leave. No one had anymore questions about the road,
so they opened it up for any questions. First was the DR.
and then one more guy started to ask a question and the
meeting was closed. Mad? yes I am..Sorry for the rant.

Exactly!

It makes me think of the time I saw a woman in a wheelchair (I think she was missing at least 1 leg) getting Gestapo-ed by TSA at the Orlando Airport, while trying to get on a plane. I’m sure that lady or the lady today with the t-shirt are out to hurt us! /sarc

Senior, disabled, elderly ladies are a threat. Illegals are not, though. Right.

Remember when the politicians state unequivocally that they will not provide health care for illegals that Obama’s immigration plan is coming this fall.

Their plan is to first pass health care for all non-illegals, then make all illegals non-illegal.

Said he will have a health care meeting as you saw.
We have called and no meeting set up. He had to go.

This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. The people of Lebanon, PA are my heroes. I am getting chills watching this as well. I picked a great day to be home sick. Of course, I know Pelosi will spin this as “these are not real constituents...they are too intelligent.”

“If Specter had a shred of character, he would hold to his word and would vote against the bill because he has said he opposes what is in it. But he doesn’t, so he won’t.”

That is the concern my wife and I had after watching most of the show this morning.

My understanding is that it is “voluntary” but that doctors, etc. will have a monetary incentive to initiate it. Can you say “preying on the elderly”?

This “town hall” will have national repercussions. This one alone could be the death knell for socialist Ubamacare. Specter will, in the weeks ahead, help kill this. He knows how to do it, too, since he was a major player in killing Hillarycare. Specter desperately wants to be re-elected and he is not a stupid man.

“we will do everything we can to keep people from breaking into the files...meaning the medical files, etc.”

What they don’t understand is there will never be any files. A friend works for IBM. He said they got a contract to write just such software, for maintaining medical records. They could never make it work. A database would have to be beyond anything currently available to maintain so much data. It pretty much just isn’t possible.

” He always votes the right way. Always “

That’s part of my point — just ‘voting the right way’ is not enough...

We need representation that ‘gets it’ that this is a death-battle against the end of the Constitutional Republic by congressional fiat...

We need people who will use every parliamentary trick in the book - bite, kick, scratch, eye-gouge, and then fight dirty - to drive a stake through the heart of this horrific power grab *before* it ever comes to a vote....

Okay - I’m done ranting - for now.....

When we look back. Specter's first town hall meeting where he said he couldn't read a 1,000 page bill may have been Obamacare’s (and maybe Obama’s too) Waterloo.

Thank goodness he's a democrat now.

This exchange between Soros and Steve Kroft happened on “60 Minutes”:

Kroft: “And you watched lots of people get shipped off to the death camps.”
Soros: “Right. I was 14 years old. And I would say that that’s when my character was made.”

Kroft: “In what way?”
Soros: “That one should think ahead. One should understand that—and anticipate events and when, when one is threatened. It was a tremendous threat of evil. I mean, it was a—a very personal threat of evil.”

Kroft: “My understanding is that you went … went out, in fact, and helped in the confiscation of property from the Jews.”
Soros: “Yes, that’s right. Yes.”

KROFT: I mean, that’s–that sounds like an experience that would send lots of people to the psychiatric couch for many, many years. Was it difficult?

Mr. SOROS: Not–not at all. Not at all. Maybe as a child you don’t–you don’t see the connection. But it was–it created no–no problem at all.

KROFT: No feeling of guilt?

Mr. SOROS: No.

Does anyone know where we can get those MOB tee-shirts?

Better not wear one at a town hall or obama will have you hanged for being a spy.

You're supposed to wear pressed khakis, penny loafers and $90 golf shirts.

As far as I know, GWB wasn’t even registered to vote in PA....

The only solace is that this fool Soros is getting up in years. When I hear him mentioned, I reply, “Is this guy still alive. What is he, about 110 by now?” But when he exits the scene as the puppeteer, unfortunately someone else will arise and take his place.

My understanding is that it is not mandatory, but the doc will get paid for having the “counseling session”. It still, imho, puts the patient in an uncomfortable position. What I don’t know is if this is something the doctor can initiate and charge on his own, or if it is only done at the patient’s request.

Arlen...you are selling a 1973 used Vega.

Hey! That was my first car! It had the aluminum engine block and steel oil pan. Differing heat expansion rates for the two metals meant that the pan would never seal and it leaked oil like a sieve. I considered using the chainsaw mix.

And why not? The little 4 cylinder engine had about the same power as a chainsaw. They put an air conditioner on it; why? I don’t know. If I had the air on and stopped at a light, I had to put it in neutral and give it gas or the compressor would kill the engine.

You know, now that I think about it, government health care would perform a lot like a 1973 Vega, except we would pay Ferrari prices for it.

I'm not sure we need to be dissing the few good guys out there who are fighting for us in Congress.

Seems counter-productive. JMHO......

Yes, you’re right. The doctor was very mild mannered, too, and did not scream or yell. But Scott is a career politician (30-some years). I live in NE Georgia, and this dominates the news here. The attendees were told that they COULD ask health care questions after the road issue was discussed. But then Scott acted Sooooo incensed when people actually did. The district became predominately Black after redistricting, so it is heavily Democrat. Yet the district includes some Conservatives, too. Hence the fireworks.
