She’s not a doctor...but she plays one at town hall meetings.

“she hoped for changes that would support primary care physicians who aren’t paid as much as specialists”

Hey lady, did it occur to you that the consequence of that will be that your primary care office visits and routine primary care will become more expensive?

In the article on her stupid car she is referred to as a “ trained “ doc so maybe she did graduate med school but doesn’t practice now??

OR more likely no one ever checked out her claim since her views aligned with media

She used to do bit acting in the Back Bay Theatre District (near China Town).

Had a hang up about one of those tasks in acting school... if you were a tree, what would you be?

There isn't much call for weeping willows except in Health Care "town halls", so....

She is listed in the AMA’s directory. She has also been politically active. Google “Sheila Leavitt, M. D.”. You’ll find hits on DU and elsewhere.

Fwiw.

Newton, my hometown(upper middle class to wealthy elitist liberals) is full of doctors. This one is probably a legit left wing freakazoid doctor who has had her lic. to practice medicine revoked ;-)

Is this her???

Photobucket

Shiela Leavitt shows off one of her chickens inside the coop at her home in Newtonville, Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008. Leavitt, a vegetarian, keeps the chickens solely for the eggs and ends up giving away a lot of the eggs to friends and neighbors.

I think she might be aka Sheila Lichtman and her husband Andrew H. Lichtman a Boston MD.

Possibly not her husband but they are somehow related. Found a listing for him with the same home address as her and Peoplefinders shows her with the Lichtman aka.

Here is a blurb from the Puddle Jump Players website:

Director Sheila Leavitt’s “Italian connection” goes back to her college days, when she toured the countryside by moped. Though a doctor by training, parenthood revealed other plans soon after graduation. Choosing to homeschool her four children (now ranging in age from 11 to 21), Leavitt became a full-time mother, assuming, among other challenging roles, that of PJP director in 1993.

More recently, after learning Italian, she ventured back to the countryside of her youth, only to return Stateside a homeowner. Interested in parlaying her new-found insights on Italian real estate into gainful employment, Sheila became a licensed realtor and established Italy House Scout, traveling to Italy where she investigates properties on behalf of clients.

“Palazzi Ragazzi” now affords her the opportunity to simultaneously indulge two passions: Italy and her Puddlejump family.

More blogging about her credentials here:

She shows up all over the web from a simple google search, and everywhere she represents herself as an MD.

These people’s credibility have been completely destroyed. They’re lead by a pathological liar and a fraud. Why would anyone trust any “supporter’s” or representative’s claims at this point? Whether it’s a facade at a town hall, the White House or in Congress...the lack of integrity has been completely null and voided.

Transparency? Yeah, I see right thru him...

Continuing Saga of DNC/Obama/Frank Questionable Doctors: "EAT THE BLUE PILL" and "Bow Before Zod" Department

"I’m having trouble finding evidence that an ObamaCare supporter who spoke at Barney Frank’s town hall meeting last night,
identified by the Associated Press and other media outlets as a Newton, MA doctor, actually is a doctor"

Associated Press (DNC Propagandea outlet): "Dr. Sheila Leavitt, a physician from Newton,
said she hoped for changes that would support primary care physicians who aren’t paid as much as specialists.
She said some of the rowdy critics at Tuesday’s meeting appeared to be using the same “talking points”
as those who showed up at similar meetings around the country."

"As far as I can tell, she is not listed as a licensed Physician at the Massachusetts State Medical Board web site.
Several “Leavitt”s are doctors in Massachusetts, but none are named “Sheila.”
Just for kicks I tried the Associated Press’ original misspelling of the name, “Levitt,”
and also found no “Sheila” as a licensed doctor."

"Other references to Leavitt mention her full name and home town,
but do not indicate that she is a medical doctor.
For example, I do find several references to a far-left agitator named Sheila Leavitt of Newton MA
who turned a “grease car” into a rolling Bush protest with signs attacking his daughters, raises chickens, and advanced the weird conspiracy theory
that the 2004 election was rigged in favor of George W. Bush."

"Another Phony Doctor? Woman At Frank Meeting Not In Database I’m having trouble finding evidence that an ObamaCare supporter who spoke at Barney Frank’s town hall meeting last night, identified by the Associated Press and other media outlets as a Newton, MA doctor, actually is a doctor."

Dr. Sheila Leavitt, a physician from Newton, not listed in the Massachusetts registry, either.

Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine On-Line Physician Profile Site

Voila, she is a Real Estate Broker:

"I am Sheila Leavitt, a homeowner in Tuscany and Liguria , as well as Maine and the Boston Massachusetts area,
where I make my permanent home with my husband and four children. I am trained as a physician,
but do not currently practice medicine; I hold Massachusetts Real Estate Broker's License # 9055871 (Buyers' Agent)

Sheila Leavit's "protest car"

Margery Eagan of the Boston Herald wrote:
"You could call Sheila Leavitt a nutty, annoying, unrelenting Newton leftie who home-schools the kids and raises chickens to share eggs with neighbors, not to eat. She is, of course, a vegetarian.
I see her as one of those rare people who puts their convictions on parade, then faces uneasy consequences.
Like the beefy, mad, middle-aged guy who followed her around the Esplanade yesterday, before dawn, tearing down her "Impeach Bush'' posters as fast as she put them up.
Or the trucker she said rear-ended her at a Mass Pike toll booth,
sending her head into the steering wheel of her '88 Toyota Corolla with bumper stickers saying ``War is barbaric'' and
``Support our troops . . . Draft Jenna and Barbara,'' as in Bush."

“This theater group couldn’t have happened the way it has without this network in place,” said Leavitt, noting how quickly word spread when she started the group that relies on parents for everything from costumes to stage management.

A pathologist who quit her job to homeschool her four children, Leavitt says that she has met most of her best friends through the homeschooling network.” http://www.homeeducator.com/HSN/outofthehouse.htm

The woman WAS a pathologist -—a friggin specialist didn’t even take care of patients. AND she started a theater group for her home schooled children ( I don’t fault her necessarily for that) but that is all that she does now. She has been at this since 1993. How dare she claim to be a practising doctor. Yeah big deal she graduated with an MD. I grant her that. Not everyone passes their boards. Moreover she hasn’t practise in over 15 years. She is a nutwing activist.
