Today, a human being died. He is now in eternity. Whether or not he made any private repentance of what he did concerning Mary Jo, abortion, or any other sin he committed in this life is not known. We may doubt seriously that he did since he showed no inclination in his public life. But we do not know. Only God knows.
What we do know is that we have a longstanding tradition on Free Republic. We hold our tongues when someone dies. We do not act like the people on Democrat underground who rejoiced when Tony Snow and Ronald Reagan died. We do not make fun or light of death or hell, for they are very serious things indeed; and if Kennedy died without Christ where he is today isn't a place we should wish on anyone (if you understand the implications, you will understand that statement).
Yes, he did a very bad thing in the 60s. He did not get away with it and no amount of Freeper piling on will change things one way or another.
So, while you may have hated the man, please self moderate your comments. We are not the D.U. We are not the Koz. We are Free Republic and we can not allow them to make us into them or we have lost something very important about this site.
Newsflash!!!
They already consider us a hate site!
Well said.
I am very happy he’s gone.
I guess now the old turd will find out if there is a vengeful God.
Ok, but isn't anybody going to wish me a Happy Birthday?
Cordially,
Better to have a posting member pass this message along then to have a AM have to do the moderating.
Yes, he and he alone faces his Maker and there is nothing any of us walking upon God's green earth can change his outcome. HE made that liberal choice all on his own as to whether he took hold of that 'rich' man's hand or he joined Lazarus in Abraham's bosom.
Kennedy legacy is BAMA and Bama told US last week who his spiritual guide is, none other than Cain.
But his legacy still remains and he was a bloody 'red' socialist who attempted to strip from us our own individuality. This guy was called the 'lion' of the senate. Now might be interesting to do a bit of reading on the methodology of how a lion takes his prey. NOT a pretty sight.
To honor Ted Kennedy on this the day of his passing The Democrat Underground has charged their term for banning from Tombstone-ing to Oldsmobile-ing.
A traitorous enemy of the Republic has gone off to receive final judgment and I'm going to celebrate mightily.
Figures.
Probably not intentionally, you are putting your critics to shame. Your efforts are appreciated by more FReepers than will say so. We seem to have adopted the mentality of the left that one’s sincerity is measured by one’s expressed hatred. I fall victim to that from time to time. You do a better job here than I would probably do. For all the things that matter, carry on.
You all do what you want here we are privately celebrating that this is the first time in our lives that there has not been a Kennedy in the Senate. :) I am not looking forward to the “Wellstone” moment coming but IMHO doing that right ow will blow up in the Dems faces and will NOT do anything except make Americans more agaisnt the healthcare bill. He would’ve died years ago under the bill they want to pass for us, never forget that!
It is our God given right and responsibility to oppose that disgusting scheme with all our might.
No problem with that statement. Saying rot in Hell though doesn’t make that statement (as some have said). It is just nasty.
I agree.
“This guy was called the ‘lion’ of the senate...”
I’d take it a step further and call him a “lion mother”....
Militant
Rush’s argument today about not naming it after him was pretty good - seeing that the bill will not afford the same kind of healthcare that he received nor the same choices. It would be hypocritical to name it after him (which has never stopped em before).
I was pointing the posts in general. There are some Fraidy Cats posting on FR. Don’t know anything about what DU says about you, I don’t have enough lead or tinfoil sheilding or Purell to go there.
