It’s not about the grid. It’s not about the environment.
It’s about control, power, and distribution of wealth.

They should not be allowed to call these programs “Cash for” Anything, unless they’re giving out cash. It’s a “limited-purpose voucher that will require you to spend more of your own money or take on debt.”

I wonder if the Zero Kool aid drinkers know they will get a 1099 as will the shocked Cash for Clunkers will.
I asked a dealer and he told me it was hidden in the fine print.

Heck, we’re still trying to find out from our dealer whether our personal and/or financial info was put at risk by our car dealer’s participation in C4C. Dealer hasn’t been co-operative, so we’ve had to see a lawyer.

so when are we gonna see the YouTube videos of dealers running the old clunker fridge to the max with the door open in a hot room and cover the coils on the back, till the compressor pump burns up? “Whoa ho ho ho! that was soooo cool man!”
But then again this “Cash for...” isn’t anything new, remember back in the AWB days? “Cash for guns” a $100-150 for a gun “off the street”?
This whole thing is just sickening, shame on those people falling for the bait.

The New York State utilities did the same thing in the late seventies and early eighties when oil prices were driving inflation. The programs were initiated (and monitored) at the behest of the state's politicians, its Public Service Commission and the state's Energy&Development Authority.
The program was a great success. I had a number of friends who were able to purchase a new, more energy efficient refrigerator for the kitchen while keeping the old one down in the basement to store beer.

I have a refrigerator in the house and one in the garage, neither of which is old. As usual no "gimmes" for old graybeard.
All I ever wanted was a free pony anyway.
I found out a long time ago that I am the buyer of free ponies for others.

Efficient refrigerators have already been around for 20 years...and I doubt that the new ones are super duper efficient and produce a whopper of a utility savings.
