On this day, exactly two hundred and twenty-two years ago, the United States Congress approved this document and sent it to the various States for ratification. (September 28, 1787)
So next time you feel the need to pen a "new" Contract with America, just remember... We the People are still! waiting for you to honor the original one.
Purge the RINOs! Impeach the Kenyan! Dump the Socialists! Restore the Constitution! God save the Republic!

RINO’s meant, ‘contract ON America’. They don’t get it.
Excellent.
"WE CAME UNARMED THIS TIME"
That is the only contract with the government of the United States that I recognize as binding on me.
"WE CAME UNARMED THIS TIME"
And my favorite as well. And now they have the audacity to threaten those who refuse to buy health insurance with jail. This corrupt, malignant government, and all those in the recent past, are on borrowed time in my estimation.
I remember the 1994 Contract with American and while they were the best republicans I ever saw in power, they refused to pass Term Limits after winning and all the Spector’s and Kennedy’s stayed, and the Armey’s and John Kasichs (R-Ohio left and then GWB got elected and it all fell apart.

Today term limits are called elections.
RE :”Today term limits are called elections”
Today we have the country on the verge of collapse because those in power, are tempted to use the power to get more power. Those that are honest, quit.
Amen to that. I’m so sick of hearing people gripe about term limits.
I took action!
I keep my copy in my purse and use it when I am talking to someone to prove a point, e.g., Where in the Constitution does it say Obama’s responsibility is to fly to Copenhagen to petition the Olympics to come to Chicago? Why doesn't he concentrate on his job of being a good Commander in Chief instead!
I just ordered 50 copies from The Heritage Foundation, it cost $25. Oh, well, there goes my budgetary allotment for the fall planting of geraniums ... Their pamphlet combines the Constitution and the Declaration. I plan to put it in every thank-you note I write to friends and to give it to everyone who comes to our home. Thanks for the post and the heads up.
I think limits on the number of consecutive terms is a better idea. Let them serve two terms then sit one out before being eligible to run again.
There are some good people in DC and its a mistake to throw them overboard with a knee jerk reaction. Two terms then out for one would bring some honesty to Washington and a bad congressman wouldn’t survive for more than a single term.

"THIS IS NOT THE COUNTRY MY DADDY DIED FOR."
Pretty much says it all.
I am currently reading “The Great Rehearsal- The Story of the Making and Ratifying of the Constitution of the United States” by Carl Van Doren (book of the month club, 1948). I picked it up in a resale shop last week, and it is fascinating reading. My wife says, and I agree, that this should be required reading in the schools. The founders were amazing people.
Well said! Thanks for posting this.
