“Most people who attend CPAC skip the poll though.”

Haven't we learned that we need to vote? Does CPAC want to be irrelevant?

In addition to promoting the radical homosexual agenda, CPAC also heavily promoted the kook libertarians. Campaign for Liberty hosted many events at CPAC which were listed on the three-day CPAC agenda. One was a speech by Ron Paul, another was a kook anti-war on terror panel set for 2 p.m. today:

You’ve Been Lied To: Why Real Conservatives are Against the War on Terror

Delaware Ballroom
Sponsored by Campaign for Liberty (60 minutes)
Speakers: Retired U.S. Air Force Lt. (Col.) Karen Kwiatkowski and Jacob Hornberger, President of FFF

Open to All CPAC Attendees

David Keene and the ACU have seriously damaged the conservative cause by allowing the kooks and radical homosexuals three days of recruiting the young conservatives in attendance.

WTH??

Paul is a RINO libertarian. CPAC is no longer “C” (conservative).

Just saw this question and in it’s simple.

It’s meaningless. Most of the attendee’s don’t have an interest in voting in a rigged poll. People unconnected to the movement are brought in to vote specifically for someone just so they can nab the headline of the week of being a presidential frontrunner among conservatives. It’s a fraud and most attendee’s ignore it.

Only about 2400 out of 10,000 in attendance voted. With some saying this is not an accurate representation.

This seems to beg the question:

Why if other candidates could be voted for, and were on the agenda, why did they fail to vote?

Either people who are almost cult like in devotion or people who are paid. Ron was the first and Romney is the second reason. Everyone else who participates follows their own conscience.

I have no idea what this means...

If the huge majority of people that did not vote, and have no interest, why did they even show up??

“If Palin doesn’t run, it’ll be the establishment candidate, probably Romney. It is impossible for fractured conservatives to unite around another candidate. JMO.”

Well then the March campaign appearances with McLame can’t come and go quickly enough...better yet, Sarah needs to get really BUSY. Hmmph.

I agree. What a farce. If they care about CPAC, they should have voted.

They have no interest in a meainingless poll. They do have an interest in the speakers. That’s why they showed up.

Look, if you want people to take the poll seriously then CPAC will have to start enforcing some rules. They will have to require registration, check out their credentials, monitor various campaigns to ensure they aren’t paying off voters.

Until then forget it.

Were it not for the drug issue and a couple of others, I think most Conservatives would recognize that Conservatism (in a strict, originalist sense) and Libertarianism have more in common than most would admit.

Well said. People need to chill. Ron Paul isn't going to win the GOP nomination, but if he's not thrown out of the tent he'll bring votes to the eventual nominee - assuming the nominee isn't completely unpalatable to libertarians.

“People may not remember how close George HW Bush came to running Reagan out of the race.”

I remember. John Sears kept Reagan under wraps in Iowa and let Bush upset him there. He fell way behind in NH and looked like he was headed for another loss, when he told Sears he was campaigning his way. He barnstormed NH for three weeks in February 1980, culminating in the Nashua debate where he cold cocked Bush. He wound up beating Bush 51-27 in a 10 candidate field. I will never forget that night. I was in the middle of a three day long Exam but was so pumped that I could not go to sleep. The Newsweek cover the next week was a keeper: a picture of Reagan in a Stetson, captioned “Back in the Saddle Again”.

I agree. She’s got 13 appearances scheduled for April so far and it goes from there. Mainly though, she needs to be in heavy-duty planning mode. I hope she is.

Why can’t they change this? Does CPAC want to be a fruadulent instrument? Ridiculous.

“No one else will name names and say we should eliminate the Department of Education, the EPA, seriously downsize HHS, cut out the Irs and the Income tax, and hammer Government back within its Constitutional constraints. Who else is saying defense starts at home—with our borders? Who else is saying send the illegals home?”

Couldn’t have said it better myself. I’ve NEVER heard of any modern “conservative” talk about getting rid of all the agencies and most of the depts. like RP has. You only need to travel within 50 miles of d.c. to see where all the wealth of the nation is going. It’s downright sickening.

LOL!! CPAC is going down the tubes. They are catering to homos, and promoting kooks. Remember that Glenn Beck was giddy when he was invited to be CPAC's keynote speaker, after Sarah Palin declined and said that “CPAC is my kind of people.”

No wonder conservatives like Sarah, Rush, Levin and others declined.
