“What this means is that liberatarians have taken over the party.”

Ron Fruitcake will get the same .07% he always gets.

There isn't a conservative bone in Specter's entire body. This is incredible to me.

i can think of one instance where Specter even acted like a Conservative. That would have been during the extended Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings. Specter had suggested having Anita Hill charged with perjury.

He knew that at the time of many of the incidents she reported, Hill didn't work for Clarence Thomas.(And Judge Kirchner knew it too and should have been charged with perjury as well).

i don't think it was a matter of ideology, i think that the whole incident with Hill's bogus charges p!ssed Specter off.

As for the person referred to in P-Marlowe's post, let us just say that he wouldn't have been the only one.

Recall that both President Bush and (former) Senator Santorum both endorsed Specter over conservative Pat Toomey for the Republican Senate nomination.. It's one of the things that helped Santorum lose to Bob Casey Jr.

Bismark once said that politics is a lot like making sausage...you don't really want to know what goes into it.

That's the major reason i've been a Libertarian since 1988. What you don't know CAN, and usually is what will hurt you.

RP has had his moment, which reminds me of the broken clock. He is dangerous along
with his followers to the Conservative ideals and beliefs by claiming to be conservative.
The RATs chose McCain in NH and they will do the same for anyone who
cannot win against the RAT machine in 2012, bank on it.

BTW, I was here when the Paul-bots invaded Free-Republic in 07-08 and many of them
are no longer among the living on this forum. RP support does not belong here IMO...
But that's just me being Conservative on a Conservative forum.

I agree, this poll is a big win for conservatives, it really steps on all the CPAC imagery, puts Romney’s annual claims as winner in perspective, it makes Palin look good for boycotting them and it makes JR look wise for taking a stand against them this year.

Paul has all the right ideas but he simply is not Glen Beck,it takes a Glen Beck/Ronald Reagan to win.

What do you expect from a group attracted to the prospect of pot legalization?

Welcome to FR, I haven’t heard much from you in your whole year here.

You think outing yourself as a PaulTard is cool.

I’m guessing you’re 20.

The donkeys will still push Romney.

CPAC is irrelevant.

“The Newsweek cover the next week was a keeper: a picture of Reagan in a Stetson, captioned “Back in the Saddle Again”.”

That must have been back when the RAT media hadn’t yet utterly capitulated to carrying water for the RATS...

I love it, the paulbots are using hyperbole and insults to make their point — business as usual for his slavish trvther minons.

AM: How many times do we let this jerk compare us who see his guy as a kook post jihadist pictures as a slam against us all? I think he has worn out his welcome...

“Check the results from CPAC 2008

Paul 12%”

Thanks for the data.

CPAC 2010: Paul 31% — 31% of 2400 is 744. Say a third of these were real “Paulites” (based on previous polling results).

All anyone (e.g Dems) had to do is buy 500 tickets at $500/each for a total of $250K and vote for Ron Paul, to discredit CPAC — best money they ever spent.

Not to be a conspiracy theorist or anything, but I personally wouldn’t put dirty tricks past the Dems, especially now, when they are desperate.

Since the names should be available, someone should do some digging, just for fun.

Worth Repeating :

“this poll is a big win for conservatives, it really steps on all the CPAC imagery, puts Romney’s annual claims as winner in perspective, it makes Palin look good for boycotting them and it makes JR look wise for taking a stand against them this year.”

The takeaway, outside of the irrelavent Paul fruitcakes, is that Romney went there and was out organized by a a nut.
