(WXYZ) - The FBI is confirming raids at the offices of three Michigan auto suppliers who do work for Toyota.

Search warrants were served Tuesday evening at Yazaki North America, DENSO International and Tokai Rika. Yazaki sells electronic components and DENSO makes accelerator pedals.

Denso has released the following statement about the situation "DENSO International America, Inc. (DIAM), U.S. subsidiary of DENSO Corporation, was inspected on February 23, 2010 by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Department of Justice in regard to U.S. antitrust laws. DIAM is cooperating with this investigation."

Didn’t I hear Rush say today that since last week when the Chinese sold off a large portion of our debt that the Japanese now hold the largest portion of it?

Same thing we’ll be seeing on private health insurers if a public option is passed.

Sounds like what Obama is going to do is put Toyota under so much stress that they fail, making more room for GM or make them submit to unionized takeover of their factories or both... how’s that for thuggery...

I totally agree with your thoughts here. Unfortunately, I don't see many barriers in the way of the socialists reaching this goal. They're so brazen about using the executive branch to make extra-constitutional run-arounds.

It still won’t work. I would walk before I would ever buy a GM vehicle again. The tyranny is escalating fast.

There isn’t a vehicle on the road today that the brakes will not overcome acceleration. I put this so called story about sudden acceleration right up there with global warming.

Oddly enough, congress-critters opened their mouths on national television in front of willing Toyota executives who respectfully sit there and take all that crap don't realize that Toyota may be getting the longest running free commercial in history.

I'm betting Ford is hoping they get ripped just like Toyota.

I drove a Daewoo Lanos in Korea that came close.

You know, the simple fact that the government has their hands in GM and Chrysler just SCREAMS conflict of interest when it comes to a foreign business (even if they are in the wrong, which they may be...). It just reeks of possible impropriety on a business ethics level, and is just one more reason why the government should NOT have their hands in “private” companies and international industries.

Hug Chavez Obama, Mmm Mmm mmm.

I would expect this kind of action in the USSR; I don't expect it in the US. Obambi is trying to eliminate the competitors of Government Motors, and is using the federal JBTs to do so.

Interesting that the same day as the President of Toyota is testifying before Congress Obama has the FBI raiding Toyota’s suppliers. No mistake about the message being sent. I dispise the UAW.

Even Carter didn’t raid the offices of FORD when Pinto Gas tanks were exploding!

Methinks they may have gone too far, and done so much too publicly.

This action, so visible, will, IMHO, certainly discourage others from investing here.

While every clear thinking individual knows that Toyota has absolutely nothing to do with its parts suppliers in how they conduct business, the headline and the insuing article leave nothing to the imagination in its attempt to link Toyota to this company.

Do you realize that in 1975, the same people jumping to defend Toyota are the very same people who villified Toyota. History is kewl.

Americans are strange.
