Obama: Time for health care debate is over
Associated Press via Breitbart ^ | March 3rd 2010 | Alan Fram

President Barack Obama urged Congress Wednesday to vote "up or down" on sweeping health care legislation in the next few weeks, endorsing a plan that denies Senate Republicans the right to kill the bill by stalling with a filibuster. "I don't see how another year of negotiations would help. Moreover, the insurance companies aren't starting over," Obama said, rejecting Republican calls to begin anew on an effort to remake the health care system.

“Once again we get the “the time for debate is over.” Where have we heard that before?”

This is something that I find disingenuous and represented as truth by the obama media.

In point of fact, this issue hasn't been debated for a year. obama acts as though democrats and republicans have been working day and night to forge this socialist health insurance bill. The reality is that specifics of the bill have only recently been disclosed, but once disclosed, in typical democrat fashion (just like global warming/climate change) dialogue is shut down and the matter is considered settled. Secret meetings and underhanded sweetheart deals were made without ethical concerns or consideration of the will of the American people.

obama and his legislature are examples of the most opaque method of governing in our history.

Well I don't see how Heisenberg's matrix mechanical summary predicts the same electron distribution as Shroedinger's time dependent wave equation, but then I don't tell fellow citizens that it's garbage.

Wow, thats exactly what I was thinking.

I don’t want him to move on to anything else!! Let’s leave him stuck right where he is, with his tone-deaf sound and fury crying for health reform until he is blue in the face-— “a tale told by an idiot, signifying nothing....” (apologies to Will Shakespeare).

If it fails, we’re going to have one sulky Bambi, and I bet he will resign and go on to be head of the UN.

We're on the same page about that.

Health Care FAILING would be, to 0bama, a shipwreck ( I guess I wasn't clear).

I have thought long and paid attention to my radar about this man.

He is not well, emotionaly. certainly not like President Bush, who had a solid core of family and faith to which he held himself accountable as a reality check.

It is interesting that many of us are making the same speculation about this man. Well, past is prologue. He is easily bored in any job he has held, and left every position he held with little to show for his efforts.

I, too, believe he will resign and then lobby to be the head of the UN which is the next large stage from which he can pontificate.

One last thing: I get really bad vibes spiritually about 0bama, and I'll leave it at that.

>>I get really bad vibes spiritually about 0bama,

Change the wine you’re drinking :>>

I feel the opposite, he’s demonstrated his lack of spine and a rather unpolitical style that doesn’t seem to translate into getting his agenda through.

If events don’t conspire against him, he’ll hopefully fade into history’s obscurity based on his ineffectiveness, his fleeting fame based on skin color overshadowed.

But, of course, “events, my dear fellow, events”.

Yes, and that's what worries me. He would be harmless as the head of the UN, but dealing with Iran as the POTUS seems to be above his paygrade.

Speaking of wine, I guess I won't be drinking any Chilean from Trader Joe's now.

I get extremely bad vibes about him in every way. I think he’s evil and power-crazed, and the only thing that might prevent him from getting a better job and fading off into the sunset is that he is full of hatred and wants to punish the US.

Now I don’t want to get into a theological debate. But this entire notion of Satan as an adversarial force to G-d, isn’t that Manichean? It’s foreign to Judaism, which sees Satan as a mere angel given the job of tempting humanity, prosecuting the sinners in the heavenly court, and then carrying out the punishment decreed in the next world.

I thought the Catholic Church rejected Manichean theology during the Middle Ages. I have no idea what Islaam has to say about the nature of Satan, although I doubt they would agree that they are on the side of evil, and would claim the reverse.

Anyway, it’s all neither here nor there. I believe they are truly monotheistic, and that’s WHY I despise their faith. They make belief in The One G-d into a hateful thing, openly advocating murder and bigotry. They are to monotheism what fascism is to secular democracy. Superficially the same starting premise, but unacceptable other conclusion due to fundamental errors.

this is pretty close to how I see it. But the bible does say that Satan is the enemy of God. He tried to put himself in God's place and to this day is the enemy of mankind (see the serpent in the garden)

I thought the Catholic Church rejected Manichean theology during the Middle Ages.

Could be. I'm Pentecostal Christian, I'm not Catholic. I have no idea what Islaam has to say about the nature of Satan, although I doubt they would agree that they are on the side of evil, and would claim the reverse.

Islam worships satan. They're just too stupid to admit it.

“But the bible does say that Satan is the enemy of God.”

Chapter and verse, please.

“Islam worships satan. They’re just too stupid to admit it.”

You can’t worship something unless you believe in it. The mideival Christian Satan might not be the Islamic conception of evil. That doesn’t mean that they aren’t evil (sure are), just that they don’t worship the personification of evil as first envisioned by the Manicheans. They worship, imho, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, but they believe he demands that they commit great crimes in order to conquer the world in His name. Not too long ago, Christians also committed great crimes, such as murder and enslavement, in the furtherance of the Gospel. But the Gospel, it seems, is a sufficiently flexible doctrine that later interpretations ruled that sort of behavior out.

The Koran is not so flexible, which is why the Islamic world remains so totally dysfunctional despite its vast oil wealth and a language with a rich literature. Mass murder, intolerance of the very worst sort, paranoia and overall backwardness will forever keep its adherents impoverished and miserable.

“But the bible does say that Satan is the enemy of God.”

Many. Starting in the garden when the serpent tempted Eve and continuing right through revelation when the dragon is cast into the lake of fire. The devil (Satan, Lucifer, Allah, Baal etc) works against God throughout the entire bible

“Islam worships satan. They’re just too stupid to admit it.”

Hogwash. In this world you either worship God and His Christ (Jesus) or you worship satan. You either serve God or you serve His enemy. Doesn't matter whether you believe or not. Atheists are some of the enemy's greatest servants whether they realize it or not.

They worship, imho, the Creator of Heaven and Earth,

No. They worship Allah the arabian moon god. If they worshiped the creator of heaven and earth they would be worshiping Jehovah, the God of Israel

Not too long ago, Christians also committed great crimes, such as murder and enslavement, in the furtherance of the Gospel.

The key point is that when so called "Christians" committed those acts they were violating the scriptures. When moslems murder innocents (non-moslems) they are adhering to their scriptures.

The Koran is not so flexible, which is why the Islamic world remains so totally dysfunctional despite its vast oil wealth and a language with a rich literature. Mass murder, intolerance of the very worst sort, paranoia and overall backwardness will forever keep its adherents impoverished and miserable.

And here we are in agreement.

Satan’s job is to tempt humans so that they have free choice. Without that there would be no need for this world altogether. This is not “working against G-d,” just working as an agent provocateur. You are confusing your interpretation of scripture with proof of that interpretation. If there is an independent enemy of the Creator and Master of heaven and earth, then He is neither Creator nor Master.

Let’s stop right now. This is going nowhere.

Does satan seek to destroy us because that is his job or because that is the nature that he claimed for himself when he tried to take God's place?

Mankind is evil enough to choose or reject God on our own without an enemy seducing us away from God.

Please see De 33:27, Psm 42:9, 43:2 and especially Psm 74:10

And just for fun, Jas 4:4.

All these verses establish that God has enemies. The question is who is that enemy. There are people alive today who hate God. they are His enemy. Does that make Him less of a creator or less of God because some part of His creation rejects Him? I don't think so.
