Stupak Touts Sidebar Bill Banning Abortion $, Pro-Lifers Skeptical
Washington, DC -- Congressman Bart Stupak, the de facto leader of the coalition of pro-life Democrats who may vote no on the Senate health care bill because of its massive abortion funding, expressed optimism that a deal could be work out on a sidebar bill to ban funding that goes along with the main bill.

It seems to me they are being required to vote for it, they just have to find the best excuse they can and they only have a few weeks to find it.
I wonder what, if anything, Stupak got for selling out?
How is he a traitor? He's a socialist who voted for the first 0bamacare bill. It isn't shocking that he'd vote for the second or any other such bill that comes down the pike.
Did anyone ever think from day one that Stupak or the rest of these Democrat “moderates” and “pro-lifes” were not going to vote FOR the Pelosi healthcare bill?
Democrats have no principles - without exception. Any one of them with moral fiber was long ago forced out of their party - ask Zell Miller.

I’m probably crazy, but I think that Stupak and several other Rats are playing as if undecided so they don’t get the withering pressure from Pelosi, Rahm, and Obama. But I also think that they are hoping to keep their jobs in November and know this will kill about 1/3 of them. So as we get real close to a vote, probably a few weeks away, this bill may “almost” get over the top before failing or being indefinitely delayed.
If Pelosi had the votes right now, we’d have a vote right now. If she was just a few bribes away from her number she would be touting a vote next week. But Steney Hoyer is saying for Pelosi that the vote is probably a few weeks away and several House leaders are telling the White House that Obama is not helping by trying to put deadlines on the process—a process that he obviously does not and can not control.
Pro-Lifers have a good right to be skeptical. Any "sidebar" bill will be only to provide Stupak cover, when he votes for 0bamascare. Later, when that "sidebar" is ignored he can feign outrage.

Bingo. This is just political cover. So he gets his “no more money for abortions” bill through the House. Then it goes to the Senate where it is aborted; killed before birth. How ironic.
