Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts addressed students at the University of Alabama Law School. Following his remarks he responded to questions from audience members.
In response to a student, Justice Roberts said the Senate's confirmation process for federal judges is broken down and stated that President Obama's State of the Union speech degenerated into a political pep rally.
VIDEO - Chief Justice John Roberts
The SOTU issue is at the 44:57 mark
Listening to him for the entire session, it's clear that we're mighty blessed to have him. He's a wonderful role model for the current students of the law, and hopefully they'll apply the same ethical, sober and responsible approach to the law that he does. God bless him.

He mentions that when visitors from the exec and legislative branches come to the SC they are treated with respect!
Yep ...
He’s a fine man .. and there’s not
one bit of hesitancy in speaking his
mind about the SOTU debacle. He knows
full well his court’s enshrined and
very co-equal position with the other
branches.
At about 29 minutes into the video he says that in the court:
“We are aware of the audience behind them, which can include distinguished guests such as senators, congressmen, and members of the President’s administration. WE always welcome THESE visitors to OUR home with courtesy and respect.” (emphases his!)
Yes ! Undeniable comparison.
God protect him ... help him guard
the keep America’s sovereignty.
Good for John Roberts! I’m sure that took a lot of courage, and he’ll be criticized for it.
The Chief Justice explains in very plain terms - as he describes the history of the Court- that President Obama is a scoundrel.
My favorite part is where he describes the courteous welcome that the Court extends to its guests, including the President and members of Congress.
Thanks very much, Chief Justice Roberts. You are a man of honor - and honor is in short supply in Washington, D.C.
Amen .. and ditto!
A fine and honorable man, in
short supply in DC these days.
Chief Justice Roberts wasn’t happy with being `rabbit-punched’/embarassed by the other two branches of government.
I can’t recall a president treating the US Supreme Court in this shabby a manner since FDR tried to `pack’ the Court..
On the other hand, I remember a photo of the Chief Justice, the putative president and others in the judges’ chambers `yukking it up’ after one of the many refusals by the Court to find standing on the parts of litigants challenging Zero’s qualifications under Article 2.
It was a coincidence, I’m sure, but the judicial branch must have some sense of pride and fidelity to the Constitution, even if the executive branch does not. And since Minnysoda sent that clown Franken to Congress, if the court does not—three strikes, last one out, turn out the lights.

Shewwww! I needed that .. thank you, D ;)
I guess he'll have to call for Soros and "Dead Fish" come haul his ashes out of that pocket.
Oh, I could drag him out, but what fun would that be?
Oh ... right .. I said it wrong.
MOUSE him out of the crevices ... just
slide him any way out of the trap.
If only we could do that for the traps
he’s set for us ...
It is shameful how O treated the SC justices at the SOTU. And equally shameful the RATS present hooted & hollered in approval. God protect John Roberts. BTW the ragdoll O was fun!
I LOVED slinging him around! It’s theraputic! LOL!
“we’re mighty blessed to have him. He’s a wonderful role model for the current students of the law, and hopefully they’ll apply the same ethical, sober and responsible approach to the law that he does.”
Yes, that’s probably why the White House (probably) was floating the rumor that Chief Justice Roberts was going to retire. That’s also probably why they were floating the trial balloon of adding more seats to the Supreme Court. FDR threatened to add more seats when the SC didn’t rule the way he wanted, but I don’t know if there was ever a law made prohibiting the Executive branch from doing that.
