Freedom Works, a Washington, D.C. based advocacy group that latched onto the Tea Party movement last year is now threatening to abandon the grassroots movement in the face of a propaganda onslaught by the Democrat party and the media.
Speaking to Politico, Freedom Works spokesman Adam Brandon said that media reports smearing Tea Party protesters as racists could cause Freedom Works to give up its support for the movement:
"Tattoos last forever,” said Brandon, quoting his boss, FreedomWorks chairman and former House Republican Leader Dick Armey. “If the movement gets tattooed as at all sympathetic to those (racist and homophobic) views, I won’t want to be involved in it anymore. It’s very distracting not only to our side but also to the debate and the country.”
The failure of so-called Tea Party leaders to stand up to the Democrat/Media smear machine this weekend has given the machine an opening to hurt the movement that they are exploiting. From personal experience I know that 99.999 percent of the Tea Party movement are decent people who would not yell the things the Democrat/Media machine is accusing them of yelling. For Freedom Works to talk about shunning them because the Democrats and the media smear them is an insulting betrayal, but to be expected from the inside the Beltway crowd.

What failure and more importantly, what leaders. The democrat/media smear machine, that is another horse all together. So much crap in four little paragraphs. To bad no one seems to understand TRUTH.
Trying to justifying someones bull manure by having to endlessly respond to BS accusations, just tends to spread it all the more. We need to find a sly fox to coordinate the sly fox plan for media intervention.
Some local groups who work with them, do so to get on Neil Cavuto and Fox News. Much like selling your soul, IMO.

Wasn’t it just a couple months ago that the Clinton’s were putting together the machinery to infiltrate and subvert the Tea Party movement by attempting to turn and or smear certain prominent members.
I’d say things have worked pretty well so far as a grass roots movement. I’m afraid if movement leader were to emerge it would be someone with beltway sympathies who could be compromised.

Agree about D.C. based groups. Keep them at arms length, or they will take over the conservative movement or any variation there of.
Interesting assumption. Have you watched and listened to the videos? They’ve been posted. The slurs appeared on none of them. In fact, there were a number of African Americans in the tea party crowds. Don’t you think they would have objected, if someone had been using the “n” word?
The tea partiers never invited any politicans, they decided they wanted us. Outside of Sarah,Mike Pence,Rep Ryan,Rep Bachman and a few others anyone else is pretty much a hangeron.
Dick Armey is just another scum bag politician. He sucked as much as he could from the Tea party movement now he is ready to leave. Well, a ho can ho anywhere.

Maybe Armey is trying to promote Obama's amnesty push. It's time for him to think about going back to lobbying.
It is easy to find out who are your friends - do they back you? Do they wait for the facts? FReedom Works employs Dick “the judas” Armey as their point man. should the Tea Party peopel even allow them at meetings?
Claims were made that gay epitaphs were flung at Barney Frank, and when the clip was shown on NBC, they provided no such proof. The crowd was chanting, "Kill the Bill."

Cameras are a great “shooter” as you know! The proof in this case was in the lack of evidence. So what the hell are they basing their problem on? Poof, exactly!
