Magnitude 5.3 Date-Time
* Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 17:30:57 UTC * Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 10:30:57 AM at epicenter
The quakes are occurring further north, almost like pre-shocks. I can sit here San Diego and almost guess the correct magnitude. The only thing I can't guess it the distance away about 80 miles in this case.

Any news on damage?
Do you see MORE earthquakes happening?
Or is this typical?
I live in El Dorado County and I pray for the big one to wipe the Gay Area Out! Ok being a little mean this morning.. Woke up on the wrong side of the world.
OMG the smuggler tunnels will cave in!
Don’t worry!
Obama will issue a “bali out” and the Mexican government will protest against not rebuilding them.
I am sure its God telling the Democrats to build the FENCE.
Actually, it’s pretty typical. There are literally thousands of small earthquakes every day. The reason you hear more about larger (magnitude 5 and above) today is there are more sensors and communication is nearly instantaneous.
I just wish there were more earthquakes along the Mexican border which would create a one mile wide canal from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico. We will name the new waterway the American Channel.
The sharks will like the temperature of the water and will find the food to be very nutritious and easy picking.
In response, the L.A. City Council voted to condemn earthquakes since they can impede illegal aliens trying to make their way across the border...
I’d like to see that happen too!
Now that is an active fault....
Hey remember the ants in Naked Jungle, I think it was.
And the blob south of highway 10 is a secret military base?
I would think it more odd to read reports of no earthquakes. I do have the view that, on average, earthquake and even volcano activity are pretty much a constant.
It is a growing planet, and that is part of how it grows.
From the ANSS map you provided link to, it does look like a 'swarm'.
Here is a program you might really like. It is free, and it takes only seconds to download, then you just run it. Awesome views, awesome controls.
Thanks. Neat program.
Thanks!
I will do that.
You just got my vote for the next President of the US.
IF... we put an actual canal, all the way across the Mexican Border, imagine the simultaneous things that would accomplish.
Reminds me of the old game Pitfall.

Yep. Felt like a truck hit my apartment building here on Coronado. Windows shook and the neighbor's dogs started barking.
As a Colorado native and a SoCal resident less than two years, earthquakes are still something of a novelty but they've been happening so frequently lately that the novelty is quickly wearing off.
