Canandaigua, N.Y. - A Canandaigua City School District teacher accused of having an inappropriate relationship with students has been arrested.
Marla Gurecki-Haskins, 36, is charged with official misconduct and two counts endangering welfare of a child. She's also charged with disemminating indecent material to a minor, a felony.
According to court paperwork, she's accused of "engaging in text messaging of a sexual nature that encouraged a sexual relationship between the defendant and two 16 year old male students."
She's also accused of performing oral sex on a 17-year-old male student in her classroom during school hours.
Gurecki-Haskins was arraigned on the charges this morning. She pleaded not guilty and was released on her own recognizance.
She has been a certified special education teacher since 1996.
Police say their investigation is not over. They said they have 2,400 to 2,500 pages of material, most of it emails and text messages.

Yea - I think that most of them can distinguish between a good-looking babe hitting on a high school boy, versus other combinations of contact.

Considering that one of my kids is that age (but, needless to say, he doesn’t EVER get to step foot in a public school)...I would have to agree with you. Even so - we do enjoy the sport of judging these animals.

Situation: Male teacher seduces female student = rapist, pedophile, sex offender.
Conclusion: Teacher is completely to blame. He ought to have known better, she couldn’t possibly have been complicate due to her youth and naivety.
Consequences: Tar and feather him, skin him alive and throw him in a vat of brine, emasculate him with a dull knife, and throw him in jail in general pop. and make sure all the other inmates know why he’s there. Top with burn alive in hell for eternity.

Consequences: Skin it alive with a dull knife, THEN tar and feather it with hotter tar and more feathers. Emasculate with rusty razor blade. Then throw into vat of hot brine and put in prison with general pop with sign over cell door listing charges. Have it thrown into the lake of fire along with Satan and the False Prophet.

Conclusion: *Lucky* boy, *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*, gets every boy’s dream. Teacher bears some blame for actions, but boy is more than willing to comply so no harm done, because, after all, he IS a boy and everyone knows that situations like that never damage a boys psyche or future relationships like it does girl’s.
Consequences: Decide guilt or innocence based solely on looks of teacher and be generous in pardon. If she is hot, declare *not guilty* and look the other way. If she isn’t, prison time for a while, maybe. Don’t forget to vote if you would “hit it” or not.

But, in all seriousness, this seems a little overblown. These were not small children but 16 and 17 year old young men. Unless they were suffering from a mental disability that impeded their ability to consent, how can anyone say (especially in a society as sexualized as ours) that they are ‘victims’ of getting to have relations with a very attractive older woman?
