I assume the dem lawyer was going to defend it in a weak way so they would lose on purpose. Nice move to remove the dem!
Terry Goddard would have thrown the case. He's running against her in November.
Good move, and it took guts to do it.
Jan's got more guts then the entire posturing RNC combined.
This governor is playing hard ball. Good for her.
Brewer, Christie etc...we need more like these two. Hey all you Governors out there...STAND UP FOR YOUR STATE!!!
This governor seems like a real fighter. I’d like to see more of the sheriffs, mayors, and chiefs stand up in support.
Goddard has always swung this way. He was a wuss as mayor of Phoenix and he’s still a wuss.
Brewer done good.
Goddard was conspiring with Holder & Co. to throw the case, I’m sure of it.
Most Excellent! Jan Brewer is a role model for women in politics - don’t take no guff!
Palin/Brewer 2012
Janet Napolitano resigned to accept the man-caused nomination of Homeland Security secretaryOh brother, I'm so sick of this kind of shit!
Sure would like to trade our (TX) Gov. Good Hair Perry for Arizona’s governor. Both goofs running for Texas governor have yet to take a real position on what Brewer is doing. Perry is afraid and White is a sanctuary city ex-major and I think open border supporter.
Brewer, Palin, Bachman, Blackburn, let’s ROLL GOP Women!!!!!
Today the legal team I have appointed to defend the State of Arizona in the legal challenges to Arizonas new immigration laws met with senior officials from the United States Department of Justice. The meeting was held at the request of the U.S. Department of Justice.
The Department attorneys were advised that I believe the federal government should use its legal resources to fight illegal immigration, not the State of Arizona.
They were further advised that on behalf of the State of Arizona, I will ensure the immigration laws we passed are vigorously defended all the way to the United States Supreme Court if necessary.
For some inexplicable reason, the Department of Justice officials met with the Arizona Attorney General hours before meeting with the State of Arizonas legal team, and then allowed the Attorney General to hold a press conference to discuss the meeting.
This level of coordination between the Attorney General and the Obama Administration is disturbingly similar to the coordination with Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords earlier this week on President Obamas still unclear plan to deploy up to 1,200 National Guard troops to the border.
Due to the Attorney Generals opposition to Arizonas immigration laws as set forth in S.B. 1070, the Legislature required Attorney General Goddard to act at the direction of the Governor in any challenge to S.B. 1070 as amended by H.B. 2162. The Legislature also gave the Governor authority to hire outside counsel if necessary to defend the law on behalf of the State instead of using the Attorney General.
The Legislature gave me this authority because of its lack of confidence in the Attorney Generals willingness to vigorously defend this legislation that is so critical to protecting the safety and welfare of Arizonas citizens. Last year, I instructed the Attorney General to change his position on behalf of the State of Arizona in the Horne v. Flores case involving a challenge to the Arizonas English language learner laws. He refused and the U.S. Supreme Court ultimately rejected his position.
Due to Attorney General Goddards curious coordination with the U.S. Department of Justice today and his consistent opposition to Arizonas new immigration laws, I will direct my legal team to defend me and the State of Arizona rather than the Attorney General in the lawsuits challenging Arizonas immigration laws.####
The really good news here is that Brewer and the AZ State Legislature were prepared for sabotage with the authority to remove and the loyal legal team in place.
THAT'S how to deal with traitor Rats, give 'em enough rope to expose themselves as collaborators, then hang 'em, and get good publicity, too.
As my dear old dad would have respectfully stated, “That is one tough broadie”.
The question is - which will the voters prefer?
I’m impressed!
I am going to Arizona this Fall with my family specifically to show support and spend money with their local businesses. Everytime I spend money I will let the business know that I am in their state and spending my there specifically becuase of SB 1070.
God bless ALL the people people of Arizona.
Rebellion is Brewing!!
