Whenever it is time to bash a particular industry, they trot out figures on profits and declare the industry to be evil.
Not long ago, we were told of the massive "windfall profits" of the oil companies -- billions and billions in "unearned" profits!! Now, in this story, it is mentioned that BP had a net profit margin of only 8.32% -- unlike the "greedy" gun manufacturer who is really raking in the dough!

The Left dreams of a world in which no business ever makes money. I suppose the ideal would be for all corporations to lose money every year. That would prove that they aren't Bad Guys after all.

One high-end manufacturer, Glock, revealed in a 1994 patent lawsuit that it rakes in 68% profit on each weapon.

So I guess the author wants the government to force Glock to sell at a lower price and profit. Since this is New York and I doubt anyone involved had a very hard to get handgun permit, that means every gun there was already illegal. Are they supposed to be double illegal? Add on top of that sob story that the victim's own son who had an pistol that was illegal because it's New York and illegal again because he was under age.
