Nancy Pelosi wants to move the Grand Canyon out of Arizona over Immigration law.

(Washington DC) At a morning press conference today, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi proposed moving the Grand Canyon out of the State of Arizona in protest of the state's immigration legislation.

"The state of Arizona should be punished for its unconstitutional law that is founded in racial profiling. The Grand Canyon is a tremendous revenue generator for the state. We think it should belong to a state that is not gearing up for Apartheid. It's a National park and we can move it if we want"

The Grand Canyon is indeed the largest tourist attraction in the state with over five million annual visitors. If moved, the economic loss is estimated to be over one billion dollars a year.

Such a project would be a monumental task requiring trillions of dollars and an estimated 40-50 years to complete.

Looking to capitalize on Arizona's loss, Senator Harry Reid sent a letter to Speaker Pelosi requesting the adjoining State of Nevada as the new home of the Grand Canyon. In part, the letter reads, "Lake Mead has been filling with sediment since the Hoover Dam was completed and will be all but unusable within 50 years. The economic boost to the region and to the nation in general would be similar to the WPA programs of the 1930's Roosevelt administration which used federal money to pay workers for improving public recreation features, such as trails, camps and roads through wilderness areas"

Some people think the Speaker's idea is lunacy. William Hathcock, a hotel operator in Flagstaff said, "I question her sanity. Does a normal person propose such an absurd idea?"

"She's nuts" was the reply from an unnamed park service employee on the South Rim. Arizona Governor Jan Brewer(r) who is at the center of immigration law provoked yet another charge of racism with her comment about the proposal, "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that stealing the Grand Canyon away from Arizona will leave an economic black hole from which there is no recovery".

NAACP Chairman Roslyn Brock, was quick to condemn Governor Brewer's(r) black hole comment as being racist. "There it is again, the racist bigots in Arizona are always blaming or profiling people of color", Brock said.

As far-fetched an idea as moving the Canyon is, there was a similar proposal offered today by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger(r) to sell Yosemite Valley to a Microsoft/Google partnership which is contemplating moving it to Washington State. The cash strapped state could net over nine-hundred million dollars from the sale. "The deal is in its infancy stage as we have yet to determine a suitable location within the State of Washington to relocate the Valley", an unidentified Google spokesman said.

She would do it if she thought she could. She will probably settle for just closing it down for some trumped up reason. I think we should all vacation in Arizona this year.

Ok, I'm going to say it, it doesn't get more official...

Leftist politics just jumped the shark. Any shred of credibility they had left was just spent.

All joking aside, Pelosi needs help. Politics aside, I'm 100% convinced that shes got mental issues.

I’ve often felt many American landmarks were misplaced...Devil’s Tower should be in Massachusetts, for instance.

The Great Dismal Swamp might be better situated in New Jersey, though things are looking up lately. Detroit might be interested.

The Badlands could separate Chicago from the rest of Illinois...

Too bad ANWR doesn’t ring Minneapolis- I’d like to see a bunch of oil rigs there. Right now we have to settle for the wind farms on I-35 in Iowa.

If you try to move the Grand Canyon, it may capsize and turn into the Grand Mountain.

I think they’d have to take it down in numbered pieces to reassemble, like the London Bridge at Lake Havasu.

Good Lord, she is just smoking something utterly illegal - Article IV, section 3 of the Constitution would almost certainly make that unconstitutional - no states may be formed from the junction of two or more states, or parts of states, without the consent of of the legislatures of the states concerned.
