With the economy looming as the 1,000-pound gorilla in voting booths this election, voters may be casting their ballots in the U.S. Senate race based not so much on the attraction of the candidate as the economic philosophy he or she embraces.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, the Democrat, believes government should step in and spend taxpayer money to keep the economy afloat, create jobs and reinvigorate commerce. Most mainstream economists credit this “Keynesian” approach with sparing the nation an even deeper recession during the past three years.

Yea, like Harry’s is really doing the job for the unemployed (14%+) in Nevada. “Most economists”. I’d like to offer to these two dolts who they actually are referring to.

If that is "mainstream", then "mainstream" chemists are on the verge of turning lead into gold!

Reid understands the importance of private businesses, but his soul is possessed by the Democrats. He must march to their mantra.

Harry, be graceful. Act for the better of this nation. Retire. Go Away.

Some people said they saw you are the Encore hotel last week. If you were there, WHY? Your party and president have hurt the businesses there. Just look at the two unfinished casinos that stand 2 blocks from the Encore.....steel girders rusting in the sun. Cranes swaying in the wind. It’s the democrat’s version of a modern ghost town.

You know, of course, his argument about “creating 20,000 jobs” at City Center is based on 20,000 illegals working?

His only real agenda is to keep himself in power. He wants to play with other people’s money. Like, America is a big Monopoly board, right?

At least they got through the first paragraph w/o endorsing their candidate.

Pray for America

[Reid understands the importance of private businesses,]

No, Harry is a shakedown artist, he’s just like Tony Soprano. I’ve got him not only taking bribes, but also shaking down small businesses.

Democrats messed up ‘Keynesian economics’; government stimulus “might work” in a depression, not a recession;

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123249646698200289.html

In normal recessions — the argument goes — an increase in discretionary government spending is unnecessary and even counterproductive. But in the event that a recession becomes a depression, a Keynesian stimulus package might work.

It's like getting liposuction, only coming out fatter. It's time to convict Democrats of Economic Malpractice.

Sharron Angle, the Republican, favors a laissez-faire, free-market approach.

This crap reads like something out of Ferris Bueller. Did it work? Anyone, anyone?

Oh how interesting. So we’re supposed to believe Keynesian economics favors data and facts, while free market principles are ideological.

Damon and Goldberg, your IQs have been adjusted downward by about 25 points.

With the media against her, Reids big money advantage and complacency by the RNC it is a wonder Sharron Angle is even tied with Harry.

Government meddling is what turns a recession into a depression. We did not get over the last depression until its chief architect, FDR , died. Thank the Lord for that favor because FDR had the American people throughly fooled and divine intervention was the only way that collectivist pig was going to be stopped.

Really need a Barf Alert.

From the article: But Burtless noted that national debt tripled under Reagan and unemployment soared to its highest level in almost 50 years.

Morons are trying to convince us that Reagan's policies were bad and Carter's and Obama's are great.

Every time it is tried, just like government abstinence.
