More accusations made in close Senate race (Miller V Murkowski)

SENATE RACE: Miller's camp says GOP group is preparing for legal battle.

There were more allegations by the Joe Miller campaign of ballot-counting monkey business on Saturday as the absentees continue to pour into the Alaska Division of Elections. State elections officials now say there are 23,472 ballots to process, with more coming, and the first count set for Tuesday.

Miller currently leads Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski by 1,668 votes in the Republican primary.

Miller campaign spokesman Randy DeSoto said in an e-mail Saturday that there are many calls going out to Alaskans who voted absentee ballots, asking them who they voted for in the primary.

DeSoto said his basis for making that assertion is that a woman contacted the Miller campaign about getting a call, that such a call was brought up in the comment section of a story on the Daily News website, and that several people had called an Anchorage talk radio show to say they've received such calls.

"I believe, and time will prove it, (the calls) are being done for nefarious purposes," DeSoto said in the e-mail. "It is definitely not being done by the Joe Miller campaign. It is being done, I believe, by the National Republican Senatorial Committee or someone they contracted with as the beginning of a legal battle to throw out ballots."

How can the GOP bigwigs think Murky can possibly win the general if it is even suspected they cheated to get her on the ballot?

The GOP thinks that we have nowhere else to go.I also believe that they think that they own us.

You still don't get it?

They don't care if Murkowski wins, as long as Miller loses.

The GOP is a status quo party. A Senate full of DeMints, Coburns, and Pauls will destroy the coalition government that we've had in place since 1933. THAT the GOP won't accept.

In general, our "leaders" are more afraid of us and what we would do in power than they are of the Democrats (or of the Islamists). Where do you think No Child Left Behind came from? Where do you think "Religion of Peace" came from?

If we can take over the GOP in primary elections (doubtful, IMO) the pillars of the temple are going to be shaken.

That terrifies the GOP "bigwigs", and they'll try anything to stop it. I bet they're talking to Al Franken's lawyers right now.

Cornyn and his squishy group of squishy senators think they're running the US Senate, but DeMint has other plans.

RINO’s are rapidly becoming an endangered species. Even in Alaska. The corruption of the Murkowski bunch is legendary in this state. When Lisa's father was in office, he took kickbacks, bribes, funneled money to his personal account and walked away with millions.

They all start out with the best intentions, but after they stay in office a while, they become corrupt. The lack of term limits must stop, like the Presidency. 2 terms is more than enough for a Senator. One would be much better though.

Hasn't the big wigs in the GOP in Alaska been crooked for years? Palin had to fight them as well as the dems. We have to fight back. I hope Miller has the ability to hang on to his lead but it sure looks suspicious right now.

Yes, the modern way to cheat in elections is to simply disqualify votes for the other guy.

Or, if you can't disqualify the votes then you disqualify the candidates ~ that's the Obama way!

I hope they don’t tear each other apart and open the door for the Dem.

Do this with class, Alaska.

Noplace knows better than those of us in Florida. First the NRSC tried to marginalize Rubio by endorsing Crist. Their excuse of focusing on incumbent Senators doesn’t wash even with industrial strength Mr. Clean. But to be fair, the patriots in New York’s 23rd also know a thing or two of this treatment at the whims of the NRCC and are being joined by districts all over the country.

Then came along the outsider vs. the machine candidates for Governor and Attorney General. The GOP establishment has lost Florida for their nefarious purposes and we ask all liberty loving patriots join us in a new awakening of the party named after what our country really is, a republic.

Beginning to think there is NO difference between the two major parties, Both suck.

No one is perfect. And powerful people want to hang on to power. But tell me, which set of names is owned by which party: Roberts and Alito, Sotomayor and Kagan.

That the Repubs are fighting the people on who THEY pick is obvious and we MUST win. But there IS a difference between the parties.

Caircross could have communicated email, held a webinar, and made a phone call. What did he communicate to the Murky team that took three days?

2 terms would be fine... as long as the second one was always in the federal pen.
