Three Signs of a Failed President
Ricochet.com ^ | 09/10/2010 | Rob Long

Posted on 09/14/2010 4:53:30 AM PDT by iowamark

You know what? I'm not going to wait for them to call the game. I know how this ends, you know how this ends, so why not just call it ourselves and beat the traffic home?

The Obama administration is over. Done. Failed.

(I'm not saying he can't get up to more mischief, or that the Republicans are victorious -- I'm a realist: I think it's possible, even probable, that we live in complicated world where there doesn't need to be a winner, where everyone can lose.)

But here are three signs that he's over and out:

1. He's worried about his base. The left keeps saying, over and over, that the problem with Obama is that he's not....liberal enough. You've got to energize the base, says Joe Conason, and Salon. You've got to sound more left wing, says Bob Shrum. (Because that, presumably, is the heart of his problem with independents: he's not liberal enough.)

2. His toadies are desperate. E. J. Dionne spins hilarious wish-fulfillment fantasies about an Obama comeback. MSNBC tries to rally the troops. The LATimes and the Washington Post begin the painstaking work of cocooning themselves until Thanksgiving.

3. He's like a rat in a coffee can. He can't get any traction on anything -- not another stimulus package, not his targeted tax cuts, not his mess of a health care plan, not nothing. With no way out, he's flailing around for someone -- anyone -- on the other side to blame. Which is why suddenly John Boehner is suddenly a popular topic among the left. When a sitting president -- a guy who won with 53% of the vote! -- is so toothless and weak he has to run against the House Minority leader -- well, good Lord, how small can this president get?

I'm sure there are more than three signs, of course. But they all point the same way: Obama's moment is over. He blew it, with his arrogance and pomposity and his stratospheric self-love. With his ossified brand of big government liberalism and his dilettante's contempt for people who work for a living. The high point of his presidency was January 20th, 2009. That's when, as I'm sure it felt at the time to him, he gained admission to the prestigious University of the White House. Another step achieved. Looks great on the resume.

The next three years are Zombie years, as he stumbles around American politics like the walking dead. And sadly, as we all know, zombies are still dangerous.

BobP: I take a backseat to no one here on FR in my negativity toward Obama, but I think this photo of Obama with the Colt 45 can is out of line.

What is it you're trying to say with this picture? That Obama is some kind of gang-banger or cheap ghetto punk? That he has a drinking problem?

There is so much for all of us to be critical about Obama that a comparison to low-class black behavior has never been appropriate to tag him with. I have to say your photo of him with a 40-ounce is racist, and speaking for myself I find it objectionable.

While he is in the Oval office, he can do nothing and let the radical minions quietly continue the destruction by manipulating the bureaucracy. By the time the damage is realized it will be too late to correct. The damage will never be corrected.

As long as he is in the office he is extremely dangerous.

4) His ears are larger than the SETI dish antennae, but he can’t hear millions of regular Americans screaming “NO”.

He will save himself when the war starts

I don't think so. He is so relexively wrong, so obstinately thick-headed (and thin skinned) that criticism of any action will drive him over the edge.

Bush succeeded in prosecuting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan precisely because he was determined to do the right thing. Obozo is determined to do what he wants.

And THAT, IMO, will make all the difference.

(Sorry if I'm too longwinded or sound like I'm lecturing! ;-P)

I am thinking about some of his appointments. Sebellius, what religion do you think she is? Wiccan? How about Napolitano? How about Kagan? If they are not Witches what are they? Being a Witch would explain a lot.

And I remember when, just after the 2008 election, Pelosi, Reid, and company were strongly hinting that Bush should resign early so that Obama could come in and immediately start saving the country.

Gingrich calls Obama a Con Man
CBS News | Sept. 12, 2010 | Dan Farber
FR posted September 12, 2010 by SmartInsight

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich is apparently really frustrated with the president.....and has taken criticism to a new level of insult, describing Mr. Obama as a "con" man who is "authentically dishonest."

Gingrich said, "This is a person who is fundamentally out of touch with how the world works, who happened to have played a wonderful con, as a result of which he is now president." (Excerpt) Read more at cbsnews.com ...

Democrats face a series of dramatic defeats at every level of government in Washington and beyond in Nov midterms, according to leading analysts and opinion polls. The U of Virginia’s widely monitored Crystal Ball forecasts sweeping setbacks on Capitol Hill and the loss of a clutch of state governorships Nov 2.

Such is the scale of the expected losses, that according to local polls, Democrats are on course to lose the governorships of left-leaning states such as Michigan and Pennsylvania..............and may be vulnerable in Illinois, long a Dem party bastion, and home to Ohaha and his WH crew.

" Holy Allah. Illinois? Gone? Get that little twerp
Rahm in here. Him and his permanent Democrat majority."

>>You are dreaming.<<

Don’t be so sure. The letters that Lucas Smith sent to each of the members of Congress is about to go viral. Congress will not be able to ignore the issue any longer. There are too many issues coming together.

I believe that he will be forced to quietly resign for some reason to protect the other members of Congress who have been complicit.

tongue-tied:

No, I'm not kidding. I think the photo on this thread is racist, because it links Obama to a racist stereotype which in no way is appropriate.

Look, imagery is important--if we are to pull together as a nation, defeat this Administration's agenda, and overcome our problems it will take all of us to do so. Reverting to racist stereotypes as part of making our case against Obama is not a strategy to attract more people to our side.

There is so much for us to be critical about to be against Obama that we don't have to stoop to linking him to ghetto culture or black stereotypes. It's offensive and lowers the bar to using to even more offensive racist imagery.

He was the investigator who went to Kenya and claims he has Os bc from there. He sent a certified letter to each of the members of Congress which included a copy and purported supporting documentation. He has been banned from FR. Don’t know why.
