Tea Party Express Responds to NRSC
09/14/2010 | Levi Russell-Tea Party Express

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: September 14, 2010

CONTACT: Levi Russell at (509) 979-6615 or via email at: Levi@FrontLineStrat.com

The Tea Party Express issued the following statement in response to preliminary reports that the National Republican Senatorial Committee would not support their own nominee for U.S. Senate in Delaware:

"The National Republican Senatorial Committee has reportedly said they will not support their own nominee for U.S. Senate in Delaware. This is a rash statement that hopefully they will reconsider once good judgment sets in.

"The NRSC tried to meddle in the vote recount for liberal Republican Lisa Murkowski in Alaska. Now they say they aren't committed to supporting their own nominee in Delaware? When will this insanity stop?

"We encourage the NRSC to take a night off, get some sleep, and reconsider their rash statements. It is because of inexcusable conduct in Delaware and Alaska that so many conservatives have turned to the Tea Party Express, offering their support and their donations. These people have lost faith in the NRSC as just another big-government, Washington, D.C.-based organization that has contributed to the problems this country currently faces.

"If the NRSC is committed to defeating Democrats in November, then it is time for them to honor their mission statement and do just that. If they fail to do so, then they can expect millions of conservatives to continue to steer their donations and volunteer hours elsewhere.

"Wake up NRSC, the reason the tea party movement has grown into such a powerful force is because of the failures of establishment organizations such as yours to honor the principles of the Republican Party platform. You tried to force through the most liberal Republican in Congress on the voters of Delaware and they rejected you. Wake up, you are defying your own base, and will end up an irrelevant and impotent organization that serves to only amuse the corrupt political establishment in Washington, D.C.

"The Tea Party Express will back Christine O'Donnell in the general election along with every other candidate we've endorsed. We trust adults at the NRSC will come to their senses and realize that the people have spoken, and it's time for the NRSC to represent the Republicans it is supposed to represent."

Not Steele, it was Cornyn(sp).

Agreed, this was not Steele this time. The NRSC is Cornyn's baby.

The National Republican Congressional Committee did this same exact thing in 2006 in the Arizona district 5 race between conservative Randy Graf and the establishment RINO candidate. They bankrolled the RINO in the GOP primary and when the conservative, grassroots-supported candidate won, they refused to help him in the General election. They’d let their RINO candidate spread all kinds of lies about Graf and left him with very few campaign dollars after the Primary. They basically wrote the Dem candidates talking points and negative ads for her, having used them all in the primary. The republican held district flipped to democrat and the NRCC and the NRC couldn’t have cared less. That’s what the grassroots GOP gets for getting organized and defeating an establishment elite candidate. The liberal agenda of the NRC, NRCC, and NRSC is so obvious.

It appears the battle lines are drawn.

On one side, are Democrats and Republicans.

On the other side, is the Tea Party -- the American people.

The Tea party is cleaning up the Republican Party - now on to November to finish the job. The NRSC can support their candidates or get out of the way. The days of status quo are numbered.

"My job as head of the NRSC is to guide the GOP back to a majority in the Senate," he added. "I can't do that without Arlen Specter. With him as our nominee, I can target our campaign resources toward beating Democrats and growing the Senate Republican Conference."

- John Cornyn, April 14, 2009

I sent the NRSC and RNC both a letter indicating I would not donate a penny to then this election cycle.

Mike Castle was another Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins. I’d rather back a conservative candidate and lose than elect a Republican that votes like a Democrap.

The RNC leadership must get a bonus for each candidate that runs as an R that gets elected. That’s the only thing that explains this “electable” BS. Or, perhaps the GOP is no longer the conservative party.

You really put it into focus.
Why spend our money to help the Democrats advance their agenda?

Jim Demint has his “Senate Conservatives Fund” which already has a contribute to O’Donnell spot set-up.

SCF aims to match the $170,000 in funds denied by NRSC.

Federal election law allows the national GOP party committees to spend up to $174,000 in "coordinated" funds to help Christine win in Delaware. Since they won't spend it helping their own nominee, I believe we should raise this exact amount for Christine's campaign. This will not only help her win, it will send a message to the Washington establishment that we're going to fight for principled leadership with or without them.

Effective immediately, the Senate Conservatives Fund will begin raising support for Christine's campaign with the goal of raising $174,000 by next week.

It’s really very simple and very instructive......Progressives have infiltrated both political parties and all of our institutions. They are systematically outing themselves and being exposed for who they really are.

It’s us against them.

Support Jim DeMint’s Senate Conservatives Fund and the individual candidates.

6 weeks to get the independents and Reagan Democrats on board.

Anybody know what the breakdown in DE is R vs D vs Unaffiliated?

I suspect that there is a huge upwell of support from independants and PUMA style democrats.

We know what the Dems are going to throw at Christine. She needs to come out and make a speach addressing them ALL.

Thus she will be innoculated from the repetetive questions of the 5th column press. She can then focus on the issues of Medicare cuts, repeal Obamacare, Stopping Cap and Tax, Cutting Government Spending.

The GOP Ruling Class establishment has detested its base voters for years. And now look what they’ve done: why those damn voters have gone and stolen the elections!
