100% agreed, O'Donnell is serving as a very useful distraction. We lose Delaware but could gain: Wisc., CA, NV. Illinois, PA, AK, WA and others.
MSNBC is playing this clip over and over on each show.
The problem is she responding to the statement “..the government shall make no establishment of religion” with “..that is in the first amendment? “ . She may not have meant that sequence of wording but it made her look like she got in over her head.
Before that Coon got off on the old ‘interpreting the constitution as it exists today as settled law’ that Scalia would have ripped apart. But for CO'D it was looking for trouble to try this line of argument.
That nasty Constitutional thingy again. Damn!
No idea of the origin.
The media has made ODonnell a proxy for Sarah Palin. She is articulate, smart, plain spoken and what the preponderance of homosexuals and ugly hags in the MSM really hate..attractive. You can't score a touchdown on every play and if we can win 80% of the close races we win, as my favorite Ole Ball coach Steve Spurrier used to say "Moral victories are for losers" and ODonnell losing is a big fat moral victory for the Bill Mahers and Chissy Matthews
She is taking the brunt of the hateful onslaught from the Ruling Class media and it's followers.
In a way, the public preoccupation with her is helping other candidates, who are saved some of the smears that might otherwise come their way from the media.
Even if she loses, she has moved the ball.
I have a question for Freepers: Whose face/expression would you most like to see on national TV on election night if O’Donnell wins?
Mine would be my friend, Karl’s.
they (Dems and media) take a race they probably would have won anyhow and fixate on it since it has a socially conservative woman who came out of nowhere in it and when she loses ..given what an uphill battle
then they can claim see...we were right
and the RINO beltway types pile on too
for the record I sent her 500 bucks last week and may send more, she is not the strongest presence I would desire but her everywoman thing inspires me and she understands the culture war
I guess throwing an interception is, technically, moving the ball.
Here’s another good quote.
Fools make feasts, and wise men eat them.
Several sites attribute it to Albert Einsten
