“But unlike 1994, when polls indicated the public had a positive view of the Republican party, a majority of Americans now do not have a favorable view of the GOP,” says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.
Mr. Holland says this as though it mitigates the damage to Democrats. Actually the opposite is true. The reason why the public does not have a favorable view of the GOP is because Republicans have behaved too much like the Democrats.

The spin? Blame the voters.Or in the words of the late Peter Jennings...the electorate had a temper tantrum... (we're such spoiled, uneducated, don't know what's good for us, rubes.)

I voted yesterday and was truly surprised by the turnout. There had already been 7000 votes by 11:00 am, which is about a fourfold increase.

I think I’ll just be drinking a slurpee (with a shot of vodka) all night, watching as the Obama junk car slides back into a ditch. I ain’t riding in no ones back seat.

As if we need help understanding this, people are NOT in a trusting mood. This is NOT a mandate for the GOP as usual. This is a 'restraining order' on galloping socialism as PJ O'Rourke put it recently.
What we need is a new brand of GOP - we need TEApublicans to restore the public perception of the limited Constitutional government brand!

I sometimes watch MSNBC just to gauge the “nuttiness” factor....but when the torture becomes to much I change to Fox.....Ed Schultz, Chris Matthews and Keith Olb are sometimes better than a comedy routine.....plus since they have so few viewers, I figure no one is taking them seriously........it should be fun on Tuesday night....and yes, an onair meltdown by Keith would be icing on the cake
