The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has a Christmas gift in store for the phone and cable industry: it may move ahead on its controversial net-neutrality regulations three days before Christmas.

An FCC source confirmed on Friday that the commission plans to push its December meeting back by a week, meaning it will fall on the 22nd of the month. That's the same meeting in which analysts say the agency may move forward on its controversial net-neutrality proposal.

We’re all Muslims now. At least when we fly.

I’m also gay if I get laid off from work.

The only bright side is that 0bastard’s fsscist onslaught is getting so extreme that maybe - just maybe - some Rs in DC may find themselves some spines.

And enough citizens will become outraged to FORCE them to find some spines.

Time for the next technology to be developed...fast!

Is anything in the works? First came the internet, next came...?

Otherwise, we go back to short-wave radio communication.

Posting of “copyrighted material” will be grounds for shutting down websites.

I would think FR (even DU) redirects a huge amount of internet traffic to the original producers of said "copyrighted material" and such traffic would evaporate if this became law.

The way around this is for the original content producers to post a waiver at their sites regarding excerpts and links. All the good conservative sites would be delighted to do such since it contributes to their high readership.

What do we do? That's easy. Contact our house reps and tell them to defund the FCC as long as they press this issue.

I am as frustrated as you are.

I don’t think we can count on politicians to stand up anymore.

We sit and wait for elections as our liberties are assaulted an stripped away daily.

Obama is the enemy of the United States.

I hate to say it but to borrow what I said in another thread, I fear my government more than I fear Al-Quaida, the Taliban and if the USSR was still around, the Soviet Union and the KGB. I hurts me to say that but it is becoming true.

Otherwise, we go back to short-wave radio communication.

Well, I'm an amateur radio operator so I still listen to shortwave. I hear Alex Jones on 4840 kc from WWCR at or around 11 PM EST. I remember the last time patriot radio was big under Clinton, the internet was just beginning, there were lots of stuff on shortwave to listen to about the fears of a big government. Tom Valentine and Chuck Harder were the biggies then. I mainly use an old Sanyo RP-8700 I got in 1978, my grandfather's 1953 Philco (gets the low shortwave bands) and my Grundig G6 Aviator Buzz Aldrin edition. The last is about the size of a pack of cigarettes, gets full longwave to shortwave coverage and has the VHF air-bad as well. It really last long on 2 AA batteries and even has single sideband to listen to hams, overseas flights, ships, military, etc.
