Oh, I thank Jim alright, and I believe I posted when he originally posted that thread.

I thank you for following up on this particular thread. A lot of current FReepers kinda don't get it. It helps a lot to keep reminding them. I appreciate your post a great deal, FRiend.

I'd even vote for Bristol Palin before I would vote for Mitt...

In fact, I'd vote for Levi Johnston before I would vote for Mitt...

It should be very clear what his goals are here, as he’s certainly made every effort to educate us.

For obvious reasons I only make a stink in extreme cases but today qualifies in my book. The constant trashing of Sarah with nothing positive said about any other conservative is simply destructive with no benefit to the conservative movement or to FR whatsoever. That has to stop IMO.

We need to talk about ALL the potential candidates' positives and negatives. We don't know what's going to happen. We can trash RINOs and libs. But allowing ANYBODY to just tear down good conservatives for no good reason has to be fought against. That's not what Free Republic is all about.

I could not agree more. I'm very concerned about this issue. We have two short years before the 2012 election, and we need to build on our mid-term successes, but there seems to be a vocal group whose goal seems otherwise.

There is a lot of grumbling about this issue going on. Maybe if we

1) continue to ask about who the bashers positively support

2) start a ping list for positive candidate support (or somesuch) so that we can get backup like you provided me today (that was really helpful.)

3) complain just a bit more about the more serious bashers...

I don't know. I've never kept a ping list and I don't want to seem like a vigilante jerk. But this is a serious issue. Do you like any of these ideas? Do you know how to do a ping list?

I like ping lists for those of us who have mutual goals. They can be extremely useful, both as sources of information, and to alert their members to problems and issues that should be addressed.

I’ve never done a ping list, but perhaps someone on this thread can help.

We'll see if we can fight this. There are a lot of FReepers that care about the direction of this site and hate all the non-constructive bashing. It'll come around.

That sounds good to me. :) I do think that a ping list is a great idea. Onyx has a Palin ping list, but a list that responds specifically to Palin (and perhaps other conservatives) bashing might be a very useful effort.
