Somebody tell Google and Yahoo it is Perl Harbor Day. Every year, on this special day, I always check google and yahoo to see if they have a clue. They don't. They'll put special home pages up for every cause under the sun, but for this -NOTHING!
(Excerpt) Read more at google.com ...
FWIW I insisted on running Pearl Harbor stories on the radio stations where I work. Don't know how many actually ran because there were some developing stories that took precident, at least in the news. I'm sure WJAS will run something throughout the day.
Not as much as I would prefer of course!
Hmmm...didn't come out as I intended.
Thank You Again BING for remembering
Why BING is my first choice for a search engine.
Goodsearch.com is a great search machine. They have the added feature of allowing you to name a charity, and every time you use the search engine, a few pennies goes into to the account of the charity you chose.
Second Amendment Sisters has received a couple of small checks from them as someone named us as their “charity”. I think it’s a good deal.....
Why do you expect them to care?
look at the memorial on BING.COM - they get the message. People may ahte MS but they don’t mind promoting vets and the flag t honor our country.
Done.
My father was an ensign on the USS Phoenix. He said it took them 30 minutes while under attack for the boilers to make enough steam to get under way. They were sitting ducks. However, since he was on a cruiser and the Japs were going for the battleships, they made it out of the harbor without a scratch. My father never spoke much about the war and only after he died that out curiosity that I researched the Phoenix’s role in WWII. It was quite a ship.
“My wall calendar says it’s the Islamic New Year... “
I read an article some time back stating that many calendars have replaced Pearl Harbor and other historical American events with Islamic religious holidays. I purchase Lang calendars and mine states: Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. (nothing else). After that article, I am very particular about the calendars I purchase. Just a thought.
***Theyll want to cobble together something honoring the Imperial Japanese Navy.***
42 years ago MAD or CRACKED magazine ran a page of cartoons about the changing movie attitudes toward the Japanese in WWII.
The one that really got to me was one showing Rosevelt bowing to Emperor Hirohito, apologizing for American ships blowing up and hurting the ears of Japanese pilots flying overhead.
Yes well, I usually get a German Shorthaired Pointer calendar as a yearly gift and this one is no different. It’s a little item that makes the giver happy because they think they’ve found something special for me, so I keep quiet. :)
But, I appreciate the info.
I understand completely. It is the thought that matters and it is nice someone gets you something nice. Thanks.
That's probably what they think. That, or PHP Harbor Day, or Python Harbor Day, or Ruby on Rails Harbor Day.
Yeah, it's a geek joke. Never mind.
$Place=”Harbor”;
$Time=”day”;
( < Perl > ) $Place $Time;
And....they were quite a group of guys. IMHO, the best we can do is follow faithfully their example.
Or at least try to.
