Wilmington, Delaware (CNN) -- Police have found homicide victim John Wheeler's cell phone, according to a taxi driver who was interviewed by investigators this week.

Athel Scott told CNN National Correspondent Susan Candiotti that police told him they found the cab driver's number in the phone of Wheeler, the former Pentagon official who was found dead in a Delaware landfill. He said investigators wanted to know how his number got there. Scott... says he told the police he didn't have any idea.

"I never got a call from the man. I don't know him... He's never been in my cab. I don't know how my number got in his cellphone," Scott says he told police...

As I remember it, the man who admitted to breaching the passport files worked for John Brennan, Obama’s head of national security. Brennan was at the time, handling Obama’s campaign security. The man who breached the files, (his name might have been Harris) was cooperating with the FBI and was waiting in his car for a secret meeting with an FBI official, when he was shot by a sniper and killed. End of story, end of passport breaching investigation.

Yes, that’s the story, or at least a small part of it. Brennan was just a part of the Obama security team during the campaign, now he’s the top US security guy. Really makes you feel secure, doesn’t it?

We can only guess how he got the job.

I believe you are correct on all counts except for the sniper bit. He was shot execution style by pistol, and the police have a sound locationsystem for gun shots , which had registered on their system. When they got there about 15 minutes after the fact, Lieutenant Quarles Harris Jr. was dead, executed gangland style, with no witnesses present. It is my understnading thet Harris was executed in his car.

It looked like a drug purchase gone bad, and maybe Harris was a user, only the person he thought was his pusher, was not. He was capped on the spot.

Oh, you’re right about it not being a sniper and the gun shot locator. I remember, now. I thought that he was supposed to be meeting the FBI contact and was early, so he was sitting in his car, but that could have been speculation at the time.

I like the drug purchase theory. Even if he was meeting with the FBI that day, he could have had a purchase scheduled.
I have to wonder if the toxicology report showed a history of drug use.

You know, the more I think about it, the story about drug use is a little too convenient, as well. Brennan could claim that Harris was working for someone else, not him, when he accessed the files, someone who blackmailing over his drug use.

At any rate, Brennan should have been held responsible for the breaching of the passport files.

Not quite accurate.

The investigation began after Metropolitan Police on March 25 pulled over Mr. Harris in Southeast on suspicion that the windows of his vehicle were tinted too darkly.

After searching Mr. Harris and his vehicle, police found marijuana and 21 credit cards that were not issued in his name or the name of a female passenger with him. Police also found eight printouts of State Department passport applications, and four of the names on the applications matched four of the credit cards.

Upon questioning by agents from the U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Postal Service and State Department, Mr. Harris “admitted he obtained the passport information” from a State Department employee, court documents say.

Mr. Harris also said the fraud ring submitted credit-card applications using the names and “identifying information” of the persons listed on the passport applications, and that a postal service employee then would intercept the cards before they were delivered to the appropriate residences.

I've never seen anything that says he was killed by a sniper, or that he was waiting for a secret meeting with the FBI. No connection was ever made between the ring that was stealing passport information for credit card fraud and the politically-focused leaks.

Oh yes, there are may possibilities to this story. I am convinced that the Chicago thug machine capped Harris, and that they had secure intel to bring it about. Maybe one reason that Obama wanted to have Secret Service protection very early in his campaign, the intel feeds.

Wheeler's body was discovered Dec. 31, 2010 as a waste management truck emptied its contents at the Wilmington, Del.-area landfill. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Thanks for posting this picture, it is a great tribute to him. He did a lot of wonderful things for others and deserves so much more in death than what’s happened to far. He definitely did not deserve to die as he did, very sad.
