McCain lauds Obama as a 'patriot' (*BARF*)

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) — one of President Obama's most strident critics — praised the president's speech in Arizona at a memorial service for the victims of the Tucson shooting spree.

The Arizona senator and Obama's 2008 opponent penned an op-ed in the Washington Post, saying Obama "comforted and inspired the country" by calling for greater civility in the nation's political discourse.

"I disagree with many of the president's policies, but I believe he is a patriot sincerely intent on using his time in office to advance our country's cause," McCain wrote. "I reject accusations that his policies and beliefs make him unworthy to lead America or opposed to its founding ideals. And I reject accusations that Americans who vigorously oppose his policies are less intelligent, compassionate or just than those who support them."

The more I hear him make comments like this the more I wonder what the people in Arizona, who voted him into office, are smoking?!?!?

And I believe you, Juan McAmnesty, are a senile, backstabbing old buffoon totally lacking in core principles. I bet I'm more right about that than you are about Imam Obama.

Just for the record: our buddy Juan was about the worst pilot ever seen in the USN. Laughable, actually. Not a yanker and banker, just a plain old wanker. What he had, just like that crazed lesbobimbo they just cashiered with pension, was family connections to get him into Annapolis, out of Annapolis, into flight school, and out of flight school (ruining the careers of the instructors who strenuously objected), and out of at least 100 wild man disciplinary scrapes.

McC just never got the hang of the stick and ball thing. Never knew where he was...got thoroughly lost over the Chesapeake! The switches and dials always confused him. All those blinking lights! His carrier landings ... fuggedabout it.

By keeping him on the ground, the NVA did us a favor. Make me SOD, I'll send the old fart a bill for all the equipment he broke, damaged, or lost before he was captured. I am sorry the he had such a bad time in captivity, but really, isn't it time for him to go somewhere less stressful... on us?

Someone who hates America and all that for which it stands cannot be a patriot.

Off topic, but I believe a comment is due. I ask for markomalley's forgiveness.

Maybe there's a South American connection to the shooter. Anybody looking into that?

Don't know about your fist part of your statement samtheman. I did read, on this forum I think, where there were sighs of relief in the Hispanic community when the shooter was Loughtner. There may be some merit to your thought, not because of the sighs of relief when Loughtner was shown to be the shooter, rather there may be some information which is being withheld, for some reason or a misdirection which has not been investigated. Of course I do not have a link, nor do I have any proof of any sort. I do have suspicions though, based on the sheriff maybe knowing something which has not been uncovered. I believe your question is valid.

>>”I disagree with many of the president’s policies, but I believe he is a patriot sincerely intent on using his time in office to advance our country’s cause,”

If John McCain believes this, then he is an idiot or he agrees with Obama on exactly what “our country’s cause” really is, which is to change that cause to one of a new form of Marxism that is a hybrid of socialism and fascism, with just a little communism thrown in.

Haven't read thru the responses ... so I'm sure this point has been made many times. Is anyone surprised???
McPain after re-election has gone back to full RINO mode.
He misses being stroked by the liberal pundits ... he wants back on all the Sunday AM liberal political talk shows.

I don't mind a patriot, but next time I'd like an American patriot, one who loves our country more than Cuba, Indonesia, Kenya, or even North Korea.
