In what could be a potential giveaway to Gov. Mick Huckabees 2012 aspirations, Race42012 has reported that Huckabees presidential committee Huckabee for President, Inc has filed termination paperwork with the Federal Election Commission. Though Mike Huckabees political action committee HuckPAC is still an entity and has filed its normal year end report, this could show clear signs that Mike Huckabee has decided not to seek the office of President in 2012. However, this could also mean that Mike Huckabee is in fact gearing up for a 2012 run, with a possible re-structure of committee. I also said earlier, that if Mike Huckabee doesnt run, it could put Sarah Palin in the lead for the GOP Nomination.

I must add an important caveat: as I am not thoroughly versed in FEC campaign laws, it is not precisely clear what this filing means but we will keep digging to find out. Closing this committee could be indicative of Gov. Huckabee retiring old debts incurred in his 2008 presidential run in order to open a new committee for his 2012 campaign, or it could simply be the settling of old accounts. The timing, however, is interesting. Stay tuned for more details and analysis as the situation becomes more clear. As Drudge says, developing

Huckabee is going to run. I’d bet the farm on it.
If he does not win, he will run as an independent on his own dime. The man wants to be POTUS so bad he will stop at nothing.
Only defeat will end his goal.
Read the documents filed with the FEC. They tell you all they need to know.
The only contribution he had recently was from Huckabee himself for $41K on 12/27/2010. The only PAC expenditures were the cancellation of two outstanding voided checks and payment of three bills to his advisors, all done on 12/30/2010.
This leaves Huckabee for President, Inc. with NO assets and no liabilities. None. No cash in the bank, no amounts owed to it or by it. The legal entity itself is still active
In accounting and law this is known as liquidation. See
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquidation
If hes planning to run, why not keep at least some money in the bank to avoid any service charges (or to pay them if theyre not that much), to pay his advisors to file the routine paperwork, and to show that he still has some interest?
Right now I would bet on Obama winning reelection, but Republicans otherwise doing well, recapturing the Senate.
If FR is any indication, you are certainly correct about the Republican infighting. Lots of ugly "Purity First" threads on FR these days, where RINOs seem to rank below Marxists. The strategy: Don't try to point out where RINOs are wrong, just label them as vermin. Oh yes, that will work.
As for Huckabee, I can only hope this story is true.
Be still my beating heart.....too much good news is assaulting my tender ears and I would fain swoon.
Leni
I have a feeling he is going to disappoint, but I hope I am wrong. I have said he is all about Mike, I would love to be wrong about him, seriously!!
I think he will not endorse Sarah...sorry just has been my gut feeling all along, and I hope I am wrong.
I think he is running
Maybe Huck would rather work on a cook book with Michelle O?
Huckabee can't start campaign for 2012 until he closes out 08, says Hogan Gidley-Huck PAC director http://ht.ly/3TD9J via Politico
Would make an excellent VP for someone. Who? I have no clue.
Could be that Jeb is deciding that he can beat Obama. If Governor Bush gets the GOP nomination, at this point, he will be the third member of his family to be President.
Huck not running? Good.
I wouldn’t go that far with “supporting actor” thing, maybe some cabinet spot.
AMES IOWA STRAW POLL IN AUGUST
Bachmann, Thune, Pawlenty, Santorum: this is the event that will thin that list to one or no survivor.
And I give the gold ring to whomever can go to New Hampshire and demolish Mitt early in year, before the fall. First order of business is to stop Mitt.
Has she declared that she is running? If not, how could he endorse her?
That would be a first, wouldn't it?
I heard that one of the Harrisons is thinking about getting in ...
I wish it were true but I don’t believe it. Huck is running. He only cares about himself.
Agree. Great guy, but not prez material.
