If ethanol was so damned good, the free market would prove it.

He said ethanol has been used as a scapegoat by food manufacturers to raise food prices, and that oil companies also have been trying to reduce ethanol production for their own business interests.

What crap. In addition, it costs the taxpayers because it has to be subsidized. Congress should not be picking the winners and losers. The market should do that.

If ethanol is so great then why did I have to rebuild the carbs on 2 different generators this last week and 2 carbs off my sandrail the week before?

I’m ready to start filing lawsuits against that crap they are calling gasoline these days.

And guess what? It’s gonna get alot worse when the recently EPA approved %15 hits the market.

What really kills me is the governments push for higher fuel mileage vehicles and then turn around and approve ethanol gasoline that causes worse gas mileage.

Freakin idiots....every last one of them!

IIRC, appx 60% of the corn supply is now directed toward ethanol production. Sounds like a really good thing doesn’t it? /heavy s

Iowa=farmers=corn=ethanol=a payday

basically another allotment situation for growers ala the FDR administration.

If I was a farmer, I’d love it, too.

This is what happens when the government decides to control a resource.

For those who don't like adulterated gasoline, look up pure-gas.org. I can't vouch for their accuracy.

I should point out that, apart from reduced range and compatibility problems with some motors, there is nothing inherently wrong with ethanol as a motor fuel, except for the fact that you have to burn a lot of petroleum to produce it and it's not very sensible economically without government subsidies. But then, we subsidize welfare mothers to have more babies, so I don't see what anyone is complaining about.

Anyway, if you don't like paying your hard-earned tax dollars to multi-billion dollar companies like Archer Daniels Midland, then you're just selfish and narrow minded. Get over it.
