A couple of weeks ago I did a story about the new provost-elect at Kennesaw State University in Marietta, Georgia. Timothy Chandler was slotted to take over the job this July but it had been discovered that he had done a paper the slanted towards Marxism and once exposed ..there was a rather large backlash from the public. Well the people have spoken and Dr. Chandler has decided not to take the job.
(AJC) Accusations of Marxism and being un-American proved too much for Kennesaw State Universitys newly selected provost, who withdrew his acceptance of the position on Thursday.
Timothy Chandler, tapped last month as KSUs new provost, had been criticized in recent weeks for a 1998 academic paper he co-authored that cited Communist philosopher Karl Marx.
A local Cobb County newspaper accused Chandler of having an obvious fondness for Marx and vehement dislike of capitalism, and was critical of his association with the papers co-author who went on to publish theories linking the Bush administration to the 9/11 attacks.
The surrounding controversy sparked debate within the community on both sides of the issue and on KSUs campus.

This is better news than people realize....There are a lot of Reds to run out of town on a rail in every college town in America.” ====
The public deserves the applause here. But the source itself remains unencumbered to continue to churn out marxists while we sleep.
It is us, and our candidates, and our current representatives who have NEVER, EVER taken on the public school, universities and academia, and still we find such a proposal out of the question, non-existent and no where to be seen on their agenda, nor our agenda, as citizens of a Republic. Elections are coming, but on our side where is there an utterance of taking on the souce—the US Education System? Crickits.
Marxocrat.
What a weakling: all he had to do was get GA Jimmy to ascertain his fitness for the post.
Most Marxists though will fight all the way to the courts if challenged; that this one didn’t is an aberration.
RE: “They have more work to do. My older sister has taught there for years. Her wish for the world: income equality. Sheesh!”

No kidding — I’m in L.A. and one of Kennesaw’s current ‘professors’ was someone I dated long ago when he was a teacher at a grade school here. A total leftist, I couldn’t stand listening him and ended the relationship quickly in disgust, mostly over his politics.
Yes, Kennesaw has work to do as plenty of leftists are still on site. Great news that there was public outcry over this ‘provost’ situation.

Gingrich taught history at the University of West Georgia (then called West Georgia College) in Carrollton, Georgia, from 1970 to 1978. He also taught a class, Renewing American Civilization, at Kennesaw State University (then called Kennesaw State College) in 1993.[10]
Wikipedia is wrong (what a surprise).
The “Renewing American Civilization” course was taught at Reinhart College (a private school). This is the course the Democrats made the big ethics stink about, saying it wasn’t a legit course. I believe it was originally scheduled for a public university (and it may have been Kennesaw), but it was actually taught at Reinhart.
He was my congressman at the time.
BTTT
“I teased my niece constantly that if she doesnt study shell end up at Kennesaw St. Perhaps Im wrong for doing so.”
They’ve actually developed into a pretty good school. I think they have an enrollment of close to 20,000 students. Like most schools how much you learn depends on how hard you work. Nothing wrong with KSU at all.
My youngest son goes there. It is not in MurETTA :) It is in Kennesaw. [Reminds me of the old days when it was being from Chamblee vs Dunwoody. The money claimed Dunwoody even though their address was Chamblee. I was from Chamblee.]
Cobb County is fairly conservative, I am not surprised by the scrutiny. It is a good school, my son likes it. I wasn’t aware of the controversy. I am glad someone was paying attention.
My only complaint is they are called the “Owls.” God, I hope they change it when they get their football program going.
We have spent our lives chanting “Gooooo Dawgs! Sic ‘em! WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF!” I asked my son if the KSU kckoff chant will be “Hooty-who! Hooty-who!” That’s when he rolls his eyes and says “Mom you are so gay.” :)
Bring in the tar and feahers.
Bring in the tar and feathers.
So they don’t mind a Marxist in that university position? How about a klansman?
... unless your parents are 10 minutes away. Other than that a fine school.
