Sorry! Can’t help myself with these musical references!

Relax everyone, it's all ok. Reid said he will shoot down anything sent from the House so not only does the debt ceiling not get increased but also Reid owns the “default”.
The House can literally walk away knowing they passed 2 bills and with clean hands. It hands it right back to the Rats to own.

He doesn’t have the votes!

...yet. Apparently quite a few so called conservatives have already crossed over from rebel to the DC Class Elites, the protected class. It only took 8 months to turn them. Pitiful.

The underlying assumption in all of this is:

"YOU CANNOT STOP THIS SPENDING SPREE ON A DIME."

The truth is you have to stop this spending spree on a dime.

There is no middle ground to insolvency.

Soberly facing insolvency with honesty is a single moment of truth.

-- The House has already voted on a plan, and Reid had it tabled, without a recorded vote. --

Roll Call Vote #116 22-Jul H.R. 2560 On the Motion to Table Agreed to Motion to Table the Motion to Proceed to Consider H.R. 2560; A bill to cut, cap, and balance the Federal budget.

The chances of a conference committee are negligible - I'd say "zero," but that is a theoretical impossibility. The House and Senate can pass a bill back and forth, amending until they agree on the same language, for as long and as many times as both chambers tolerate.

The Dems are too clever by half. They are up against the laws of economics.

Some realities cannot be manipulated.

When you run out of money, you are broke.

I got news for you. Regardless of what bill passes, a downgrade is coming because neither bill addresses the root problem. And that is what Moody’s and S & P evaluate.
U won’t be happy. I guarantee.

This would be giving them to much credit but boy would it be cool if it was true. The whole thing was a play. In that Boehner wanted it to look like a divide in the GOP house, drag out time, and drop this deal at the last minute, which only left time for CCB, forcing reid to bring it back as the last minute effort to avoid going to long.

I know not reality but man I can dream...

That is not the plan.

the plan is...Boehner passes it. Reid amends it and gets it through..it goes back to the House and passes.

Mark my words and hear them clearly, if this gets out of the House and Demint won’t or can’t stop it....the revised bill passes and goes to Obama

the only thing that might gum up the works is if the Gang of Six rears it ugly head..but they will compromise and fold some of it into the bill

The House of Representatives has already passed legislation: the world’s greatest deliberative body has chosen not to deliberate. Fine. Enough with the “bring me a rock” game. They brought them their rock, they didn’t like it. Memo to Boehner: enough with the rocks already. You’re undermining your position. You’re not Dr. Phil, you’re the Speaker of the House of Representatives and your chamber overwhelmingly passed its legislation. Act like it.

John Boehner should say: Harry Reid, call me when you pass your Senate version of my bill, we’ll participate in Conference committee ASAP. Until then, I don’t want to talk to you. No more votes in the House until then. As for you, Mr. President, with all due respect, Senator Reid and I will let you know when it’s time for you to sign our bi-partisan bill into law. Until then, please don’t tell us what we should or should not be legislating, because we already get it: you were the most liberal member of the Senate during your brief tenure, and if you were still a Senator you would vote NAY for what will finally get through Conference committee and manage to somehow get through both Houses. The back-benchers always have the luxury of voting NAY on a vote that passes and YES on a bill that fails.

Bottom line: nobody is going to like the result. It has to be done.

I'm way beyond caring about defaults or downgrades. The only thing I care about right now is not handing Obama and the Rats any type of rhetorical victory. Make the Rats reject it and make them own it.

If they kill it they should pen a letter to reid, pelosi, boehner and obama that they are prepared to go to the mat on it and have them all sign it. Then have their own press conference.

Anything that stops a compromise forces Reid to bring up CCB AGAIN (which under the rules he can do and will have to do).

What is the weather like on your planet? Reid does not have to touch CCC. He can pass his own plan in the Senate (the GOP senators will not filibuster), and then dump it back to the House. A combination of Dems and establishment GOP will vote to pass the Reid bill "to avoid a default".

I think it as with the CR. It's all theater. They know exactly who will vote yea and who will vote nay and who will switch if need be to make it look close. Paul Ryan said on the floor of the House that everything in the bill was agreed to by Repuklicans and Democrats in the Senate and all the talk was meaningless since the compromise was decided. In other words, Wimpy caved when all he had to do after CCB was KEEP HIS F'N MOUTH SHUT AND PUT IT ON THE DEMOCRATS. Boehner needs to read his own remarks. He told us while he was caving on the CR that he controls 1/2 of the 3 branches or government. Which means Mr. Dumba$$ Speaker, you should demand that the other half of the Legislative Branch and the Executive Branch write down a plan acceptable to the People's House. What an empty suit. Why do we even think we will ever have a chance until the elitist Republican establishment is rooted out or put in the minority. Hope those new knee pads fit well, Mr. Speaker.
