So this afternoon I'm going to the tag office to renew my vehicle tags, and I have Rush on the radio. I must have been touched by God or something, because just as I turned it on he started with a long monologue on how everything we've had for the last 20 years has been fake.
Cars, houses, flatscreen TVs, unlimited medical care for the poor, Medicare, etc, you name it - all fake.
Oh sure, the car, the TV and the doctor are real - you can touch them. But we never paid for them. We borrowed more and more money.
In short, Rush woke up to the reality of this:
Yes, he put a nasty partisan spin on it but you have to give the devil his due - he finally awoke from his long slumber. For the last several years I've wanted to smash the radio whenever he has gone on his "Republicans good, Democrats bad" mantra when it comes to deficits, taxes and spending.
Well, not today. Oh sure, today he had to say "Obama has been worse", but that's to be expected.
But he acknowledged - for the first time I've heard on his broadcasts - that what we've been doing, and are still continuing to do, not only hasn't worked but can't.
The people are waking up. Oh, it's slow, but they're doing it. And the small number who are awake and really, really *****ed off are going to turn into a very large number of extremely *****ed-off Americans in short order.
With good cause.

What is this self important idiot talking about. Karl Denninger couldn't carry Rush's golf bag. First of all, who started this ball rolling against Obummer by declaring that he "Hoped he failed"? If I recall at the same time, this loser Denninger OPENLY VOTED FOR OBAMA.
You are an irrelevant putz Karl. Go away.
I still can't figure out what the end game of their plan might be. But I really think that they want to level the field by making it so that while most people are waiting in line for their potatoes and toilet paper, some can go an buy the same for $100 or maybe even $1,000.00. But, how long will they hold out - or, how fast will they go through everything they have?

This guy passes right on by that the current crises belongs to Obama. Sure we’ve been spending on entitlements. And the debt had to be dealt with and the spending stopped. But Obama capped it off and brought on a crisis with stimulus, bailouts and Obamacare. This mess belongs to the marxist.
Financial Armageddon is certainly coming soon.

Fantastic. A very well written article that lays out the problems facing America in a very straight forward logical manner. I know nothing of Denninger but I'll certainly be looking for more of his articles. Thank you for posting this.
First off, Karl, Rush bashes Reublicans all the time. I guess you don’t listen much. Then again, you probably won’t ever see this comment surfing ThinkProgress
What stupid people they have turned out to be. I'm not saying they are dumb. They are not. But what an amazing gift this first dark skinned fellow had. Right when we could look around ourselves and see that most of us really don't care what color someone is Barry came along. At a point in time most Americans did not look at skin color and make some assumptions about character or intellect. Barry came along and people handed him the golden ring. And he blew it. He has to go.
Hope I can stay up long enough to listen to Rush’s answer to this, if he thinks it important that is.

Does this supercommittee have power over things other than the budget? For instance, can they put something in their recommendation that outlaws personal ownership of gold?
I should have put quotation marks around “we” - the people - will be the ones, in the final analysis, to actually deal with “the mess” created by “our” elected representatives over the last 30 years.
