I agree with Newt. Especially with Sarah still looming.

Remember at this point last time Huck was flying high nipping Romney’s heels, McCain’s campaign was dead and bankrupt, and the highly anticipated Fred wasn’t even in the game. We know what happened there.

Perry’s got big numbers but like last time we’re going to have to go thru the grind to see who comes out on top.

Sorry Newt, your flavor ran out when out when you produced a fake surplus for Clinton...remember? It just behooves politicians that we NEVER forget...

Been wondering where Newt was. For a presidential hopeful he’s awfully quiet lately!

Sour grapes from "Scozzafava" Newtie.

Also, proof that members of Newt's staff post regularly on FR.

"Flavor of the Month"?

Hey, Chunky Monkey Newt, you've been on a dead-end Rocky Road for months now. Soon you'll be off the list of candidates altogether as you disappear in a Razzberry Swirl into obscurity.

Newt is probably the smartest guy to ever even try to run for President, but he has just simply taken himself out of the run...

I knew it was really over for Newt when he was giving a speech in Iowa and his cell phone goes off with Abba's "Dancing Queen" as the ringtone.

At that point it seemed that God wanted to put the final cherry on the smite cake.

Thanks, now I know how to avoid him. Don’t start watching Hannity.

What flavor is that, Newt? Sour grapes?

I don't disagree with the premise.

I've seen freepers complain about the attention Perry's getting while forgetting other candidates already at their moments in the spotlight. He's been running 2 weeks and others have run for months or years.

For me, Perry moving ahead in polls is a factor of the field having produced no breakout candidate in spring or early summer.

Romney's been a "default" front runner. There's no enthusiasm.

Newt is dead on right. Remember Donald Trump? If Chris Christie or Paul Ryan jumped into the race.... they would shoot way up in the polls temporarily.

Why the childish, knee-jerk reactions everytime someone you don’t like speaks? How about pausing for a second to think whether or not what they are saying is true? I heard Perry on Sean Hannity the other day, and he doesn’t sound like the Republican Party’s saviour to me. He might be a fine president, but nothing jumps out and says: THIS is the guy. Nothing really warrants his frontrunner status just yet.

By the way, when Newt was the rock solid conservative superstar you remember him for, Rick Perry was a Democrat. Newt is still very close to being that guy.

How was Rick Perry a Democrat, and how did he support Al Gore? I’m not sure I’m buying his answers. Arlen Spector switched parties too. Newt>Perry by far.

Why did Newt write such a glowing foreward for Perry’s book?

Was he a different flavor back then?

I’m sorry, were you posting to me? I don’t recall exhibiting um, “knee jerk reactions” every time I disagree with someone and his/her words....unless you are by chance following me around with a video recorder, and captured those moments.

And contrary to your post, I have never considered NG as a conservative superstar.........he’s just as much a soup du jour as the rest of them, not to mention just a really mediocre human being.

It all goes back to his support of Nelson Rockefeller in 1968 when he was, what, 26.

Oh, Fred, was in the race by Sept. 1. I believe he entered in June, didn’t he? He just had no enthusiasm.
