Nailed it.
Either it was an outright arms-smuggling operation, or a “sting” which required random deaths for success. Either means some very powerful people very high in government need to go in very small cells for a very long time.

I prefer to not receive my news from social networking sites.
Why not use the direct link to the LA Times article?

You’re right. Besides, some of us aren’t on FR 24/7 and this is the first we’ve seen it. It does need maximum exposure.

When Sec. Clinton’s first act was to meet with the President of Mexico and apologize for US guns ending up in his country instead of complaining about drugs from his country ending up in our country — then you know that it was a planned course of action decided in a Cabinet meeting at the White House and she was not acting on her own.
To: libstripper
The only logical purpose for F&F and Gunwalker was to get traceable weapons into the hands of the cartels, have them use the weapons to commit murders, trace the weapons back to American dealers, and blame legitimate gun owners and Second Amendment advocates for the carnage. And I can hear the rationale for this in my head. "Well, they're killing people anyway. We might as well take advantage of the situation and turn it to our benefit."
Or in the words of one Rahm Emanual: "Never let a good crisis go to waste."

Might consider reading
Home Invasion by J.A. Johnstone. She's William Johnstone's niece and a great author herself.
The book is about a gun-controlling left winger occupying the white house. Two years ago I would have considered the events described in the book to be extremist fiction with no chance of ever really happening. Now I'm nowhere near so sure.

Agreed. I could see Palin having this an issue of the corruption of this administration for the campaign and she does know how to put it. But is she running?
