... “We were talking about religions in Germany. I said, ‘I’m a Christian. I think being a homosexual is wrong,’” he said. “It wasn’t directed to anyone except my friend who was sitting behind me. I guess [the teacher] heard me. He started yelling. He told me he was going to write me an infraction and send me to the office.”

Homosexual conduct is suicidal conduct.

She also said her son had "told me last week that the teacher had a picture of two men kissing on a wall that had pictures from across the world."

Star-Telegram

Did anybody happen to catch the name of the teach in any of the stories?

I ran a search, and only one name came up, on this page. Doesn't mean he's the one, but, if not, he probably knows who is.

First off it is "Public Education not "gubmint"; You do have at least a high school diploma don't you?

No, twit. It's government education, gubmint for short (and to indicate contempt).

Public has a positive connotation. Government, these days, evokes a negative response. Just ask Frank Luntz.

Yep! We've seen some GREAT examples of that recently: Wisconsin teachers "rallying" for positive changes; and, GA teachers being "creative" for positive changes.

I didn't say all of us are GREAT, but I certainly copunt muyself in that group. I have high standardsa and my students actaully learn skils.

Back in the 80's I knew a former railroad engineer who ran a train between Germany and Poland for three years. He used the same sort of excuse...

Godwin's law, I will take the win.

Verga, you must think highly of yourself if you thinK I would remember your special self among the flotsam and jetsam of Free Republic, considering that I am one of the many that shows the hypocrisy of your beliefs and actions I know you should. That combined with the fact that you have yet to prove me wrong would be good reason for you to.

Wow! I feel you pain and frustration. I warn as many as a I can, and I have been doing it for years.

Our nation's **most** serious threat is our godless and socialist-funded government schools. We can not fill the next generation of voters with “demoralizing” filth ( as Yuri Bezmenov warned) and not expect horrible consequences.

Also...there are no good or great government teachers. If there were we would have seen the government schools shut down many decades ago. Any conservative and/or Christian who continues in these pits of ignorance is merely acting as Useful Idiot. If these teachers really loved kids ( as they claim to do) they would be rescuing as many children as possible from these indoctrination camps. They would be out in their churches and communities warning parents to never send their kids to mind and soul deadening government schools. They would be working to see that government schools were closed permanently.

You claim that the schools went south in the 1940s. This implies that somehow secularist and socialist government K-12 schools ( that nodded to God in the morning) were good. They weren't. Government schools have **always** been run by progressives. The push has **always** been toward more and more secularism, and continually more progressive socialist indoctrination.

From the very beginning ( mid-1800s to early 1900s) sending children into socialist-funded government schools that offered up a lukewarm and generic Protestantism was an abomination. Who was it that voted in Franklin D. Roosevelt? Answer: One to three generations of voters who had been taught to be comfortable with socialism in their socialist-funded government schools!

— Government K-12 schooling has **always** been evil. All government schooling from the beginning has been a First Amendment and freedom of conscience abomination.

—Progressives have **always** controlled teacher training and curriculum development.

—The first progressively run government schools taught our nation's people to be lukewarm about their faith by offering up a generic and lukewarm Protestantism. What does Christ do with the lukewarm? He spits them out of His mouth!

— By my grandmother's day ( born 1894) schools were godlessly secular and citizens learned to be comfortable with secularism.

— And, now, since the sixties government schools teach children to think in an utterly godless manner and continue making our citizens comfortable with socialism. Is it any wonder that they worship at the altar of the government and look to government as their Redeemer and Savior?

As for colleges, just one thought:

Bill Ayers and his wife and other communist radicals of his ilk were put into positions of great influence by people of my father and grandmother's generations. The communist moles have been eating away at the foundation of our nation at least since my grandmother's generation ( born 1894).

That’s pretty much my take on why the homos themselves are so vehement. Their consciences scream at them that it’s wrong (Rom 2:15), but they don’t want to give it up. I think they believe, at a level right above that Law written on their hearts, that if they could just get all the external voices to “celebrate” their depravity, then they wouldn’t be feeling the guilt that they are feeling.
This, of course, is false and destructive, both to themselves and to society.

I believe this is the same reason that post-aborts are so vehement about “women’s reproductive rights”.

BUT! Why is it that liberals who are not homos get so incensed about any dissenting opinion?

Something I just typed above gives me some insight about the “crossover”... I know a [probable] post-abortive woman who is VEHEMENTLY “pro-gay”, though she’s not homosexual. This is probably due to the concept that if homosexuality is wrong based on the objective standard of God’s Law as given in the Bible, then her abortion was indeed murder, as she knows at the deepest levels in her conscience.

No it is simply a statement of fact.

By involved, I'm talking about, at a minimum, going out to VOTE in city elections, after becoming sufficiently educated on the candidates. Voter participation in my large city is consistently, atrociously anemic.

I cannot understand the lack of participation in local politics over national politics. People seem to completely have their priorities reversed.

Yes, because sitting around wringing my hands and doing nothing except moaning, wailing, and gnashing teeth is the most effective way to solve a problem. /sarc
