Herman Cain may be the front-runner in the polls but he is way, way behind in the funds.
Last night on Erin Burnett's show Cain revealed he only has a several hundred thousand dollars in the bank.
Yes, several hundred thousand.
"For the quarter, we will report, first of all, no debt. You see, I run this very tight, like a start-up business, because that's my nature as a businessman. And we are going to have -- we will report at the end of the quarter several hundred thousand dollars in cash on handled.
Within the last week or so, our fund-raising has really picked up a lot, because of the response of the public. And so, I don't know what that number is. I just know that it is going to be very, very respectable."
Compare that to Romney's $14 million or Perry's $18 million and regardless of how much fundraising picks up it is an enormous gap to bridge. Too enormous?

“The Dems will use Wall Street, Mormon racism, and Romneycare to ruin Mitt.”
Add to that the MSM. By the time SNL gets done doing skits on him and the MSM “news” reports every little “problem” with him, he’ll lose the election.
I got one from Mitt yesterday, I didn’t even open it, just laughed, ripped it in half and dumped it in the trash. That felt good.
Romney and Perry have huge war chests yet are trailing Cain in the polls. A lot of people are withholding contributions until after a candidate is chosen. Romney and Perry have a ton of money because they have huge corporate donors behind them. However, all that money is not translating into success now is it?
Perhaps at this moment, he does. Should be enough to cover gas money for the bus tours. But he has a book out now, speaking engagements and I’m certain he has picked up in fundraising these last few weeks. First candidate that I’ve contributed to.
It isn’t going to be about money this time. And as long as he keeps getting media attraction, they’ll follow him and have more interviews.
A few key endorsements will also help. And if the primaries really do start in December and he does as well as I think he will, he’ll have time to mount more resources going into the convention and the general election.
Thanks for reminding me. I stopped by his site to contribute: https://www.hermancain.com/donate
You could send him $9.99
As many times as you'd like....
The "no debt" should be the headline.
Someone commented on the original article that his campaign could ask for a $9.99 contribution. I’d bet he’d get a lot of those.
Probably reflects that he is not obligated to some “high roller, fat-cat” business tycoons, special interest groups or international eurotrash scumbags like Soros.
Already did! :-)
Well, now he has $100 more. Never contributed to a presidential campaign before, but I just bough into Cain for President. I’m a believer!
He runs a tight ship with no debt God help him... we need someone with fiscal sanity.
I’m putting my money where my mouth is, as my Dad would say!
I made a donation to Herman Cain.
No donation is too small! Donate now and let’s give Herman
the support he needs.
If you can’t afford to give then give your time - sign up to help him win the Nomination and be the next POTUS!
And what type of real vetting Herman Cain has got so far? Very little if anything at all. Wait until the media and his opponents vet him properly and then make your judgment whether he has it in the bag or not.
As soon as Perry is shamed out of running, Im going to dump my donations on Cain. I figure in early February when I get my tax refund ought to do it for my part.
I’ve given only $150 so far, but Cain needs to feel our support.
The problem is... there’s no one left, since 75% of Republicans want nothing to do with that liberal Romney.
Even if something comes up, who are people gonna turn too? everyone is lacking, so they will just choose the one they like the most, which is Cain.
So even if he comes up lacking too, he will still win.
I’m gonna send some cash tonight.
