BREAKING: CDC Backs HPV Vaccine for Boys
FoxNews ^

Posted on 10/25/2011 12:58:48 PM PDT by Scythian

A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advisory panel recommended Tuesday routine vaccination of boys ages 11 and 12 with Gardasil, which protects against infection from human papilloma virus. The panel unanimously approved the plan, with 13 votes in favor and one abstention.

The panel also advised that vaccinations with Gardasil begin in boys as young as 9 years old.

The recommendation, from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, elevates the urgency placed on immunization against HPV, one of the most common sexually-transmitted diseases and a major cause of cervical cancer. Previously, doctors were free to use the vaccine in boys, but the panel had stopped short of proposing routine vaccination.

it’s been a year since that happened, and other than your standard run-ins with colds and stomach bugs I haven’t noticed anything out of the ordinary.

Thank you for asking!

What people don’t understand is that many of us had vaccines against communicable disease administered by moral humans for the reasons of keeping humans from catching disease.

What we have now are immoral people crawling into bed wih drug companies for ideology reasons, political reasons, or financial gain.

None of them moral and none of them worrying about preserving life.

People had better wake up and realize that those in charge could care less about whether kids get ill and die or end up unable to conceive. They will just deny, deny and deny.

The whole thing makes me ill.

Obamacare mandates this and it does because Merck climbed into bed with the Obama admin for money.

Shame on all of us who think any of these people care.

Offer up your kid? Go ahead. There will be nothing you can do about it it. They will have US and world government protection.

I’m glad to hear that she’s okay.

I would watch her when she gets shots and other procedures in the future - even when she sees blood or some other person getting a shot.

That reaction is called “vasovagal syncope.” http://www.webmd.com/brain/understanding-fainting-basics

Fainting can look very dramatic, with all the automatic movements and the “eyes rolling back in your head.” It’s more a blood pressure event than a true problem in the brain.

The subconscious seems to decide it’s time to check out as a “fight or flight” reaction to perceived danger. The brain sends messages to the heart and the blood vessels to cause the blood pressure and heart rate go down and people completely pass out. It’s completely out of conscious control.

As long as they don’t hit anything when they fall, there’s no left over symptoms after the adrenaline wears off.

I’ve had watchers, dads and friends, do the same thing. Moms will sit when I ask them to, but not all dads will, so they faint more often than moms, it seems.

Viruses mutate on a regular basis! Nobody can possibly keep up with the ever changing strains of them.

Yeah, that's why you see so many Americans with mumps, polio and smallpox.

The single/divorced bar scene is rampant with the HPV virus like fleas on dirty dawgs. IMO the CDC should be marketing this to the STD Friends.com community and not adolescent boys.

What is the prevalence of “human papilloma virus” in the male of the species?

It is just as prevalent as in the females. Also, just because little boys don't have a cervix doesn't mean they're protected from cancer. While cervical cancer is the most well-known, it also causes bladder, throat, and other cancers. Oncogenic papillomaviruses can grow in ANY mucous tissue.

There are MANY more than three strains of HPV that are oncogenic. The vaccines protect against two of the most virulent, but there are quite a few more that can cause cancer.

It’s estimated that 1 in 25 women will develop cervical dysplasia. Without treatment, about 30-50% of those will develop into cervical cancer. Source: http://www.thehpvtest.com/about-hpv/cervical-dysplasia-faqs/

The same HPVs that cause cervical cancer also cause other cancers, such as bladder, throat, anal, and penile cancers.

The vaccine does no good being given to someone who has already been exposed. The most effective time to administer it is while the patient is still a virgin. Otherwise, it's probably too late.

You are very correct. It has been long known, but well hidden that many lung cancers are also HPV caused, but because the meme is that smoking is the greatest "cause" that information has been all but hidden from view, and most often denied. It is also why HPV caused cervical cancer was kept so quiet for so long, it did not go along with the standard that it was smoking that caused the cancer.

The number of strains came from the CDC, take it up with them.

The vaccine only provides temporary protection. It has a significant rate of problems.

My knowledge of HPV comes from having done research in the field, not from looking at CDC articles. There are over 100 HPV strains, many of which cause cancer.

As far as vaccine problems, I’ve only seen that problems were reported as occurring after vaccination, but not that vaccination caused the adverse events. Any population has a certain level of adverse events; to implicate the vaccine means showing that a specific type of event occurs at a significantly higher rate than in an unvaccinated population.

“My knowledge of HPV comes from having done research in the field, not from looking at CDC articles. There are over 100 HPV strains, many of which cause cancer.”

I often don’t agree with the CDC because they have an obvious agenda.

“Any population has a certain level of adverse events; to implicate the vaccine means showing that a specific type of event occurs at a significantly higher rate than in an unvaccinated population.”

No it means the people pushing the vaccine need to prove its safe. I don’t need to prove anything. The incidence of young children getting sick and dying after receiving the vaccine is higher than the incidence of these children dying of cervical cancer.

Other vaccines protect against diseases which impact the children immediately and at a higher rate than the side effects from the vaccines.

There is a casual relationship between Gardasil and Anaphylaxis. In one single school in Australia, 8 cases of Anaphylaxis with 15 minutes of administration of the vaccine.

Correlation does not equal causation.

There is no evidence that the rate of moderate to severe adverse effects among children who have received the vaccine is any different than among children who have not received it. In order to establish that there is a safety issue with the vaccine, there MUST be established a causative relationship between adverse events and vaccination. NO such relationship has been established.

The people "pushing" the vaccine have already proved its safety; it would not have received FDA approval otherwise.

And, let me repeat: correlation does not equal causation.

Where there’s smoke there’s usually fire. Only in this case you are betting peoples lives.

But the payoff in dollars is immediate, so what the hey.

Not at all.

A high percentage of people who have traffic accidents during morning commute drink coffee before leaving for work. Does that mean that drinking coffee causes them to have an accident? The two events most certainly correlate.

Correlation does not equal causation.

“Correlation does not equal causation.”

If it quacks like a duck, and walks like a duck, and wears pharma branded shoes, then its probably a quack.

Funny how you ‘doctors’ and ‘researchers’ all quote CDC numbers until they don’t fit your agenda. Then you start with the “there’s no evidence”.

There are plenty of cases where healthy children get the shot and suddenly develop problems. Just because you can’t explain why doesn’t mean there isn’t a problem.
